Laura’s Review of Fall From India Place (On Dublin Street, #4) by Samantha Young

Synopsis
The New York Times bestselling author of On Dublin Street and Down London Road returns with a story about letting go of the past and learning to trust in the future...

When Hannah Nichols last saw Marco D’Alessandro, five long years ago, he broke her heart. The bad boy with a hidden sweet side was the only guy Hannah ever loved—and the only man she’s ever been with. After one intense night of giving into temptation, Marco took off, leaving Scotland and Hannah behind. Shattered by the consequences of their night together, Hannah has never truly moved on.

Leaving Hannah was the biggest mistake of Marco’s life, something he has deeply regretted for years. So when fate reunites them, he refuses to let her go without a fight. Determined to make her his, Marco pursues Hannah, reminding her of all the reasons they’re meant to be together.

But just when Marco thinks they’re committed to a future together, Hannah makes a discovery that unearths the secret pain she’s been hiding from him, a secret that could tear them apart before they have a real chance to start over again...

What I Loved
This story reminded me why I love Samantha Young so much.  It was so great to jump back into the world of Dublin Street and see how everyone’s lives have changed and moved along.  Plus, I was so excited to finally get to Hannah’s story and watch her blossom from the teenage girl I first met in On Dublin Street into a woman with a career and a life.

Immediately I was curious as to what the hell happened between Marco and Hannah and I couldn’t put the book down because I just NEEDED to find out!  But when I finally did, boy oh boy was it a doozy.  I’ve always liked Hannah, even though she was a background character she was an easy person to like, which made it so easy for me to fall absolutely in love with her.

The physical attraction between Hannah and Marco poured off the pages the minute they locked eyes on each other so many years later.  My heart broke for Hannah when Marco left her high and dry so it was kind of fun to watch Marco beg for her forgiveness for a little. It definitely made this story more enjoyable and hooked me instantly.

Not So Much
This was such a great story and I’ve always loved this series but there was a point where Hannah kind of annoyed me a little.  At a certain point I felt like the plot walked a fine line of being a little repetitive when Hannah kept on going back and forth.  I get that she was severely burned by Marco and she has every right to tread lightly when first seeing him again but her constant running got tiring after a while and I wanted to scream at her.  But I get it, you begin the story on Hannah’s side but soon enough her actions start to make you Marco’s number one fan.  Which just makes this story so much more enjoyable and engrossing.

To Sum It All Up!
Once again Samantha Young has hit a home run when it comes to the On Dublin Street series.  Hannah has always been a supporting character from the very first book so it was so wonderful for her to finally have her own story.  I was instantly emotionally engrossed in Marco and Hannah and wanted nothing more than for them to find their happy ending.  There were points where this beautiful story brought me to tears while other times I had a huge smile on my face. I love stories that take me for a ride on the emotional roller coaster and this one certainly fits the bill.  Not only was it amazing to get to Hannah’s story but to also see how Jocelyn, Johanna and the rest of the gang are doing and how their families have grown.  It’s so wonderful not only to see Marco and Jocelyn’s happily ever after but see all the others happily ever after as well.
