men.
First Impressions

First of all I’m very happy this is the last book in this series
my blood pressure can’t take it anymore.
There has NEVER been a series that has made me as angry as reading this
series! K.A. Linde is seriously an evil
genius, I want to slap her and hug her all at the same time.
I’m probably about 30% of the
way through and have already sensed where this book is going and let me tell
you, I’m not happy about it at all! I
always thought of Lexi as someone that can’t really decipher instinct from
emotion, or just has bad instincts. Now
I view Lexi has being just as self-destructive as Jack. Before I began this book I was totally Team
Ramsey and I and even more Team Ramsey more than ever! This book almost immediately made me angry
again, I held off reading this one because I know this series gets me
frustrated and I wasn't in the mood to read a book that would piss me off on purpose finally I was like okay I’m ready to read this sucker and get some
closure and right away I’m sucked back into the story and my emotions are
running wild.
What I Loved
Jack |
I absolutely love the Kellan Kyle connection in this book it was
awesome when the D-Bags were slightly mentioned in Avoiding Commitment but it’s
awesome that Kellan is talked about more in this one. I can’t get enough of the D-Bags!!!! Although
this book evokes a lot of negative emotions in me it’s a feeling you love to
hate. This book in a way for me is
almost masochistic, because even though I know I’m going to be pissed off and
frustrated I still have to read it and find out how everything will end. Then when I do get pissed I’m like why I am
doing this to myself I knew this book would make me mad but I have to read it
anyway! It’s very much like a
dysfunctional relationship almost every girl has had with some dude from their
past.

Lexi
for me was probably one of the first heroines in a book that I had a very hard
time getting behind her decisions. She
was likable and definitely relatable but there were so many times throughout
this series that I really wanted to slap some sense into here. So without giving too much away I’m glad at a
certain point in this book when she had to make decisions that she came to
realize that it’s better to be alone and happy than with someone and
miserable. That’ s when I could respect
her decisions and her choices because she finally started to realize things
about herself, about her past, and about her present that made me look forward
to her future. From ending book two and
then starting up this book I would've wished for things to have ended
differently but by the time I was done with this book I was really okay with everything. Out of all the books I think this is the one
that Lexi had the most growth in, she really became a woman by the end rather
than a mid-twenties girl looking around the world in wonder.
Not So Much

Now I know a lot of people have complained about Lexi’s choices
at the end of this book because that is not where they wanted Lexi to go, and
trust me there is a HUGE part of me that understands that. But an author can’t write a book to please
the masses the story has be organic and it has to take its natural course and I
feel like Lexi took her natural course.
Do I agree with all of her decisions; not completely but yes in the end
she followed her heart and for her it was the right place to go.
What
I didn't like was that I didn't feel like I got complete closure at the end of
this book. I would've really loved an
epilogue looking into future maybe 10 years from now where Lexi is with her
life. Is she married? Is she still single? I felt like for how emotionally invested I
was in this series for such a long time and for a trilogy to take you such an
emotional ride I would've liked to have seen a little glimpse in Lexi’s
future.
Overall
John |
I love the writing style of K.A. Linde because she kind of
eludes to a big plot twist present day and then switches to the past every
other chapter slowly building up to what you have been waiting for. It’s a great build up and when you finally
get there your heart is pounding, your palms are sweaty, your blood pressure is
through the roof and it’s a relief to finally find everything out then you can’t
put the book down to finally see how this all going to work out. Going on this emotional roller coaster with
Lexi was amazing; I absolutely loved reading her story. The pace of this book was awesome I never
felt like there were things skipped over, or times when the plot kind of
lulled. This story was definitely
explosive till the very end, I couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion to
this story.
