Laura’s Review of Devoured (Devoured #1), All Over You (Devoured, #0.5), and Absorbed (Devoured, #1.5) by Emily Snow

If you Rock the Heart by Michelle A. Valentine, Leave Me Breathless by Cherrie Lynn, and The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle

Basic Summary:  Sienna Jensen had no plans to return home when she graduated college last spring—after all, her dreams lie in California.  But when she discovers her grandmother’s Nashville home has been foreclosed, and the new owner has started the eviction process.  Sienna has no other choice but go back to Music City.  And she comes face to face with the flawed, gorgeous man she never thought she’d see again.  The man who now holds the deed to her grandma’s estate.

When millionaire rock star Lucas Wolfe finds the outspoken redhead glaring at him from across a courtroom, he’s both infuriated and intrigued.  He still can’t get the night Sienna almost spent with him out of his mind, and the chemistry between them is as undeniable as it was two years ago.  He craves Sienna more than ever.  And just like everything Lucas hungers for, he’s determined to have her.

Now, Lucas will do whatever it takes to lure Sienna into his bed, even if that means making a deal with her: ten days with him, playing by his rules, and he’ll hand over the deed to her grandmother’s home.  Though she agrees to the arrangement, Sienna is conflicted.  Because of her duty to her family.  Because of promises she’s made to herself and a past that still haunts her.  And as Luca’s game of seduction continues, and Sienna is introduced to his dark, erotic world and even darker background, she realizes that at any moment, she could be devoured.

What I Love About This Book:  Almost immediately you feel attached to Sienna, the minute she lands in Nashville you see just how alone she is in her life.  She has a best friend back home, but in Nashville she has nobody.  Her brother Seth immediately is a huge asshole, so much so that if he existed in real life I would’ve punched him in the face.  On top of that her grandmother is in constant denial about her daughter who sits in jail and has taken all of her life savings and flushed it down the toilet because of drugs.   Sienna has sort of chipped away a piece of a life for herself in California working her dream job as a wardrobe assistant for a popular TV show.  It’s obvious though that her past has chipped away at her self-esteem and her self-worth.  I love that Lucas empowers her to stand up to people who railroad her, at the same time making her his submissive.

This book is a roller coaster ride, with some sexy highs, and depressing lows.  When Lucas breaks Sienna’s heart I was so angry with him I wanted to throw a chair at him!!!!  Their relationship definitely has me wanting more, and I cannot wait for the next book to come out.  The sex scene that finally comes closer to the end of the book is hot hot hot!!!!! Lucas Wolfe is one sexy beast, and I can’t get enough of him!

Cons:  There aren't a lot of details in this book where there should be.  When Sienna steps into the house where she and Lucas are staying, all I know about it is that’s huge, and has bamboo flooring.  I don’t really get the layout of the house, what kind furniture exists in each room, what color are the walls, none of that is written out.  What gets me more into a book are the details of the things and places around the character because it is what adds to the story line and richness of the world that the author creates.  It’s hard for me to really fall in love characters without those details and this book definitely needed more.

Also when there finally is a sex scene it’s great and there is just enough detail to leave the reader panting, but that’s it!  I get there are a couple erotic foreplay scenes and all, but the next time they have sex which is very soon after the detailed scene it’s just skimmed over.  If you’re going to just have a couple of times where the characters have sex, and it’s a erotica book make both of them detailed and longer.  It’s a tease, and not in a good way!!   This book could’ve been at least a couple more chapters longer, if you added more details and more sex I think I would’ve gotten more attached to the characters.  All those details are important for character development and even though I felt attached to Sienna, which kind of came and went because there wasn’t enough detail for me to get attached to her relationships.  I don’t really understand her relationship with her best friend Tori, there is no development with Tori herself so it’s hard to really get into that best friend/roommate relationship.

Overall:  The storyline was very compelling, and it was easy to feel the desperation that Sienna feels when she returns back to Nashville and you read about the state of her family.  Her grandmother in denial of her enabling of her drug addict daughter, a brother who still kind of lives in his own mental hell for what has happened to him when he was younger, leaves her with no real family to depend on.

Lucas Wolfe is hot hot hot!!! There is nothing better than a rock star falling in love kind of book, but when you add Dominant to that equation it just makes the story 20 times better!  The minute they see each other court, you instantly want more Lucas.  I craved the scenes of them together, and when they finally get it on, it was beyond sexy!

Like I said this book could’ve been a bit longer with more details and more character development and I would've absolutely loved this book!  Erotica books that involve sexy rock stars are awesome, and I love the scenes where they are singing and around adoring fans, are just as hot for me as the sex scenes.  The scene where they sneak into the club and gets up on stage is awesome, and the scene where they finally get it on in the hotel is even better!  I would give this book more stars is if there were more details though, but over all pretty good book.  The ending definitely leaves you wanting to find out Lucas’ dark secrets and panting for of Lucas Wolfe in general.

Review of: All Over You (Devoured, # 0.5) by Emily Snow

Basic Summary: Before Sienna was devoured, before Lucas was consumed, they were all over each other...

Lucas Wolfe is used to getting what he wants-from everyone but one, that is-so when he meets the wardrobe assistant hired to work his band's newest video, he's got to have her.  From the moment Sienna first obediently whispers "Yes, Mr. Wolfe", he knows she's perfect for him.

Three days.  And he'll have her stripped down and bound to his bed.  Set two years before the events of Devoured, All Over You is the story of Sienna and Lucas' first encounter.

What I Love About This Story:  It was great to just experience the scene of their first meeting, especially since it's talked about so often in Devoured.  I really liked the point of views switching back and forth as well since that did not happen in Devoured.  It was also great to revisit the chemistry between Lucas and Sienna because I really miss them and am trying to wait patiently for Consumed to come out!! I need more Lucas and Sienna, this was a nice foreplay for what's in story for book two though.  Even if it was just a short story the sexual tension between the two of them was very evident.  I also felt like in such a short amount of time Emily Snow was really able to capture Lucas' control issues and Sienna's lonely life.

Cons:  I was little disappointed to see that Sienna was giving into her mom's demands in this story.  In Devoured, she seems to be the only one who can stand up to her mom in her family.  So when she talks to her mom briefly in this book I was in complete shock and mad at Sienna for giving into her her requests!  I would've loved to have known what changed her mind that she went from giving into her mother in All Over You  and not putting up with it in Devoured.

Overall:  Great short story, it was written nicely and got right to the point.  The electricity between Lucas and Sienna leaped out of this short story and I need more of it!!! I wish this story was a little bit longer, I would've liked to known what happened to Sienna after she moved back to Nashville, of even if she did move back.   But the details were great, the pace was awesome, and their personalities were definitely conveyed well in this story.

Review of: Absorbed (Devoured, #1.5) by Emily Snow

Basic Summary:  Lucas Wolfe has come close to happiness with Sienna, not once but twice.  And both times he's lost her because of own fears.  This time, he can't let her go so easily-not now that he realizes that the one woman who said "no" is the one he's in love with.  Sienna is good for his music, and his life, and he's determined to show her that she belongs with him.

What I Love About This Story:  It’s short it's sweet and it's to the point!  It's pretty cool getting a whole short story almost entirely from Lucas' point of view.  I liked that Kylie was added into the mix as well, and that Sienna was not in this sine she is the main character in the rest of the stories in the series.  It was a new and refreshing way to look at a series by changing the point of views like that.  Lucas Wolfe is a sexy beast, and that was definitely obvious in story.  The story was hot and sexy without there being any real live at the moment sex, so that was pretty cool as well.

Cons:  I wish it would've gone into Sam and Lucas' relationship a little bit more.  To maybe understand her as a person would've been nice.  I have lots of questions about the two of them other than from the obvious what the fucking happened between the two of them that she's blackmailing him about.  To me it's just a little hard to take that someone bothers you for years, and then all of sudden says "okay just give me more money and I'll leave alone" that doesn't make sense to me.

Overall: Great short story, definitely enough to tide me over until Consumed comes out.  But at this point I NEED to know what Lucas is hiding!!! What the hell did he do all those years ago???????  I have my theories but I'm sure none of them are right.  I wish there was a little bit more character development as far as Sam goes but it's a short story so I get it.  This story also made me more excited to read Savor You, which is Kylie and Wyatt's love story.  The ending was good, although I wish I would've gotten Lucas' POV when he was standing outside Sienna's house waiting for her.

Side Note:  Consumed has been pushed back again and again and I know Emily snow is having problems with getting the rights back from whatever publisher she was using.  So who knows when Consumed will come out, which is very frustrating and I feel bad for her right now because it must be stressful.  But if you go to her website (http://emilysnowbooks.blogspot.com) you can read the first chapter from Consumed, and get a bit more of Lucas and Sienna!!
