I needed to spice up my life a little, so I requested from NetGalley, Picture Perfect Cowboy by Tiffany Reisz.  Back in 2013, I read both The Siren and The Angel and while both books had tremendously hot and sexy sex scenes, at times some of the BDSM situations were a bit much for me. However, sometimes you have to go back to author and see what they have up their sleeve, so I jumped on the opportunity to read this book.

YEEHAW Jason “Still” Waters!! Reisz wastes no time getting the Jason and Simone story started. The two of them are just so darn cute together that I think I blushed a few times while reading. Two opposite people from two different completely different worlds with ONE thing in common and that is really all you need. Find that common ground whatever it may be, and the sparks are flying. My favorite in this book was mostly Jason and watching him grow into himself. It is an important part of life realizing who you are and being okay about the taboo things that turn you on and Reisz captured that perfectly.

This is a hot and fun but quick ride with a little sumthin sumthin at the end of it.

What I Loved

Kingsley

                The better question really should be, what didn’t I love!  The entire series has enchanted me from the very beginning and hasn’t let me go and this book was no different.  I love that we not only get to experience the present time with Nora and the gang but we get to walk through the past as well. It makes the story more then just a story more than just a plot but a learning experience as well. The mystique that is this dark strange world that Tiffany Reisz has described so beautifully is once again present, and pulls you in from the very first word. 

         

Grace

       There were times I cried while reading because I felt like there was no hope, while other times I cried because I was so moved by the love Soren and Nora shared with each other.  While The Prince delved into Soren and Kingsley’s past, The Mistress once again dips into Soren and Nora’s relationship, reminding you what the term soul mates really means.   Nora’s amazing sense of humor once again shines in this story, while other times you see a different more desperate side of her.  I once again have fallen head over heels in love with Soren, and we got to meet some new characters that I instantly loved as well.  Grace Easton makes a very big appearance in this book, and I was immediately her number one fan.  Tiffany Reisz has such a great way of writing these not only beautiful, but strong smart women, who become the true champions at times throughout the story.  It is so rare to read a series where every female character is independent, open minded, not whiney and annoying. This was such a wonderful and enchanting story and a great way to end The Red Years. 

Not So Much

Wesley

         I have very little to put here.  I absolutely love this series, and I never wanted this book to end.  I guess my only complaint would be that things just moved a little too slow for me.  I realize this makes me a hypocrite because I could have read this book forever, but I wish things progressed a little bit faster.  I also wish I would've gotten to see more of Griffin and Michael, there was only slight glimpses of them and I definitely wanted more!

      

This Book Was…

Laila

                Magical!  There is no other way to describe this book other than magical because it certainly put some sort of spell on me.  I absolutely love this series; I wish it would never end because I can truly never get enough of it. I feel like, even if you don’t like BDSM, or disagree with a Dominant/sub lifestyle, you would still be able enjoy this series because for me, the message at the end of each and every one of these stories is love.  Humans are complex and complicated, therefore human relationships are just as complex and complicated.  There is no way to define love the same way for every single human being on earth, and this book and series explores the many different facets of love and what it means to these characters.  Whether you believe in monogamy, or polyamory, love is different for each person and because of that, different relationships can form and change.  I love that this series paints such a positive light on couples who have stepped outside the norms of our society at the same time truly showing how pure and beautiful true love can be.  I cannot wait to dive into the White Years Quartet, because I can truly never get enough of Soren, or Nora and even Kingsley too.  Thank you so much Tiffany Reisz for creating such an amazing and captivating series for me and many others to enjoy and explore just by opening a book.

First Impressions

         There are no words to express how much I needed to dive back into this beautifully dark world that Tiffany Reisz has created.  So far my heart is partially broken for Soren and Nora, while I’m ecstatic that Nora and Wes are once again back together.  The first book in this series I couldn’t decide if I liked Soren or not, and by the time I got to this story I just wanted more of him on every single page.  I do appreciate the story switching not only from Kingsley to Nora but from the past to the present on top of that.  It adds another wonderful layer to this very intriguing story.

What I Loved

   Wow well Tiffany Reisz has once again blew my mind.  There is a bit of a mystery layered into this one, and for a good part of the book I thought I absolutely knew who the culprit was; boy was I wrong.  I was on my toes the entire time I read and I couldn’t put this book down.  I actually resented going to work because I wanted to sit home and read all day long. 

            Nora is truly one of my favorite characters of all time to read, and I was so happy to have her back in my life.  Her personality shines through in this story and I loved being able to see her “normal” side this time around.  It felt kind of good to know that Nora at times wonders what her life would be like if she chose to lead a normal life with a white picket fence, and a couple of kids.  I loved that about her because it kind of brought her back down to earth for me, to know that sometimes she thinks about the things I think about especially since we are about the same age. 

            I loved that even though Nora is away from Soren, we still get plenty of Soren in this story; probably more so then the other books.  You get to see Soren without Nora in this one and I liked that because you get to see another part of his life and you get to see many parts of his past.  Sometimes I feel like this series really isn’t about Nora and her world, but is actually Soren’s story told from other people’s point of view.  You get chunks of his past with Kingsley in this book and what their relationship has meant to each other over the years at the same time unraveling this great mystery that had my heart pounding by the end.

Not So Much…

          

      The point of views switched from Wes, to Nora, then to Kingsley throughout the book, but not once did it switch to Soren’s.  The past dealt with Kingsley and Soren’s relationship while they were in school together, and I loved getting to finally see that part of their lives but I would’ve felt the story was more whole if Soren’s point of view was included in it.  I got Kingsley’s view of their relationship and that’s fine but I would’ve liked to have both of their views at certain points.

            Also as much I loved going back to the past, I kind of bored of it for a while.  I don’t think that’s anyone problem but mine because I just don’t like Kingsley as much as I like the other characters in this series.  It’s not that I don’t like him as much but, I don’t like him around Soren.  I want Soren and Nora to be together, they are true soul mates and while Kingsley is Soren’s soul mate I feel that he is a best friend rather than the love of his life.  I dislike how much Kingsley hate’s Nora at times because I just love her so much.

This Book Was…

                Amazing!!! Holy cliffhanger batman!!! This book was awesome, when I finished it I was literally shaking and my heart was pounding out of my chest.  There are so many unanswered questions at the end of this story that I feel like I’m withdrawing for a drug addiction because I just need another Original Sinners hit!

            For most of this story my heart was torn in so many different directions.  I truly believe that Nora and Soren cannot live without each other.  As appealing as normal sounds to Nora at times, and sounds to me, deep down I feel like Nora’s normal is being Soren’s submissive.  I don’t feel like these are broken people, who have found each other, I just feel like that this is who they truly are down to their bones.  I love this world that Tiffany Reisz has created because you are never truly 100% sure where you want this story to go.  There are times when I want Soren and Nora together so badly, while there are times I feel like Nora needs a break from the beatings and she just needs to be held and loved.  I feel like she won’t get that while she is with Soren, there will always be violence and what will that look like 30 years down the road?   I did love getting into Kingsley’s brain and see how he feels about Soren now, and he felt about him then.  As well as finding out how much he truly loves Juliette and I wonder what that might mean for his future.  This series has seduced me, mind, body and soul and I cannot get enough of Nora Sutherlin and her red riding crop.

These are both Prequels to the Siren (Original Sinners, #1) and are not meant to be standalones.

The Gift Basic Summary

              A trained submissive, Eleanor will do whatever her master commands…even spend a week with a stranger.  Daniel has been a recluse since his wife’s death, and Eleanor’s lover thinks spending time with her will be therapeutic—especially since Daniel is also a Dom.

            Despite her defiant streak, Eleanor can’t resist giving in to Daniel’s erotic demands.  But while she’ll let him have her body, she’s determined to keep a guard around her heart.  Even if Daniel wants to make Eleanor his permanently….

The Gift (Originally published as Seven Day Loan)

What I Loved

                Well first of all, the one big thing I loved about this very short story is the massive amount of sex in it.  Thank you Tiffany Reisz for not beating around the bush and not paying too much attention to the lead in of the plot and just getting right to the point. 

            This is a very short story, only about 41 pages but it definitely packed a punch.  I instantly fell in love with Daniel, and Nora’s wonderful personality shined through every page.  I love how Nora can break my heart in one sentence and have me giggling in the very next.  Soren of course pisses me off in many ways, I get everything he does, he does with a purpose and lessoned to be learned but I don’t know how I would feel about being shared by my master against my own wishes.  Yet since I have read other books in this story and know very much about Nora’s relationship with him, I understand the bond the two of them share, which far and away more powerful then Soren’s and Nora’s actions. 

Not So Much

                I wanted more!!! I wish this was a little bit longer, because I just couldn’t get enough of Daniel.  I want more Daniel, and I want more of him now!  This story was such a great story, but I would’ve appreciated it being maybe 10 pages longer going into more day to day detail.  Nora was definitely the submissive in this story, even if they topped from the bottom a little, but I would’ve liked more BDSM.  I think I would’ve appreciated a scene involving more toys and more bondage.

This Short Story Was…

                Awesome!  I love Nora Sutherlin, and I worship the ground Tiffany Reisz walks on.  In such a short amount of time my emotions went from reluctant, to sexual, to joyful, to hopeful, to heart breaking.   I wanted so much for Nora to make different decisions, even though I reluctantly understood her choices and would probably decide the same thing.  I love Daniel so much, but I love Nora even more and even though I’m not totally in love with Soren I get her relationship with him and what that means to her.

Little Red Riding Crop Basic Summary

What I Loved

                I enjoyed this short story because it had a little surprise at the end that actually calmed me down.  For a minute I was mad there was a Dominatrix out there that could be better than Mistress Nora.  I was not going to be happy if there was a woman out there that could challenge Nora and win!  I love Nora and she is the best Dominatrix in the world, and no one can take that title around for her.  The ending of this book although soothed my nerves, still left me anxious because Black Forest is definitely giving the 8^th Circle a run for its money.

Not So Much

                Like The Gift, I would’ve liked this to be a tad longer.  Maybe show a little bit of Nora’s vacation, and the luscious moments that would happen while she was away from Kingsley.   I love short stories because they get right to the point because you have no time to drag the story along, but this is only about 37 pages, and I would’ve liked it a little bit longer.

This Short Story Was….

            Terrific! Of course a great Tiffany Reisz book wouldn’t be completed without at least one sex scene, and of course you get that.  I was wondering where on the time line of Nora and Soren’s relationship this book was taking place and it was interesting for this one to take place after Nora had left him.  I also enjoyed the hotness of Kingsley in this book, I’ve read The Angel where you get a dose of Kingsley’s sexiness but it was never enough for me so I was happy to get some more in this one.  Although I do think Kingsley is a total asshole for not giving his workers days off or even 
vacations!
