Kari's Review of No Going Back (Timing Is Everything Series) by Erika Ashby

Only Read if You Have Read Moving Forward!!!

Summary/Blurb:
Life isn’t always about fairytales and happily ever-after’s according to Seth Jordan. After having his world shattered and heartbroken beyond repair, he had always sworn off the idea of love. He was perfectly content with continuing his life with worthless one night stands and no strings attached sex. That was until one blue-eyed blonde managed to seep into places he thought were cemented shut.

Like a jack hammer, Mallory Prentice came into Seth’s life and cracked the hard exterior that surrounded his heart. She’s the one woman he was starting to feel might be worth taking a chance on.

But life doesn't always hand you the easy road. Sometimes you are constantly hit with the bad and have no hope of any good ever showing up.

Will Seth and Mallory realize that ultimately they are the ones who are in control of their life’s outcome? Will they embrace the future and fight for their own happiness, or will they keep lingering in past mistakes and let it keep them apart?

Life is all about forgiveness and second chances. Once you come to that conclusion and just go for it, there is…no going back.

What I loved:
This is the second book in the Timing Is Everything Series.  This book totally went beyond my expectations. There were twists and turns (that I will keep quiet about) for Mallory and Seth.  This book focuses on Mallory’s journey with Seth.  I loved Mallory the moment we met her in book 1.  She is feisty and doesn’t allow setbacks to bring her down.  She knows what she wants and goes after it.  I am a huge fan of books with alternating points of view because I love getting inside both main character’s heads.
Seth is also a strong male lead in this book as much as it doesn’t seem that way. There was a love/hate relationship with him for a major part of the book, but that is exactly what keeps you so enthralled in this story.
Emotionally, this book was a roller coaster.  I laughed, ugly cried, got mad, and eventually did a happy dance.

What I didn't love:
So my last review I wrote that I was upset because Holden’s character didn’t get his HEA.  Well……(SQUEE!!!!) He is getting his own book (Save Me From Me) but it is a “spin off” of this series.  So with that said I am going to say that I want Nick to get a HEA and was sad that he didn’t get his in this book! (Hopefully Miss Erika will then tell me he is so I can SQUEE again! LOL)

Overall:
This is an author to watch!!! Miss Erika has quickly climbed the ladder to my top 5 favorite authors.  I am extremely impressed with her story telling and her ability to convey emotions and emotional situations through her words.  The story lines in her books are realistic and could happen to anyone.  They are relatable.  This is important in a book sometimes and it quite refreshing after all the 27-28 year old billionaires we read about so often.  The characters in her stories are average people with ordinary lives.  I adore this author and can”t wait to dive into more of her stories!!

Favorite Quotes:
“You’re the yin to my yang.  You’re the peanut butter to my jelly.  You’re the shoelaces to my shoes.  You are my everything.  You were made for me.  We were made for each other.  I want you from now until forever.”  ~Seth

“Your heart is safe with me Seth.  I will treat it as if it’s my own, because now it is.  You own my heart.  You own my soul.  All that I am belongs to you and I know that with you it is safe.” ~ Mallory
