Synopsis

"I
already have a few. I'm fine."
She
tossed three more tomato wedges on his salad plate."Lycopene. It's
good for the prostate," she said.
Daniel rolled his eyes and
sighed.
"Prostate
cancer," Patty said to me in a hushed voice. "That's what got
Bradford—my husband. Never ate a tomato in his life. I'm convinced that's what
did him in. Although I read an article recently about the importance of
regular ejaculations as well. Not that Bradford had a problem
with that."
I bit
my lip to stifle a laugh. Daniel stared at her in stunned silence.
"You
are having your oil changed regularly, I hope?" she asked him.
What
the hell? Penny
had said Patty was a corker, but nothing had prepared me for this! She
was awesome! I blinked back tears as I tried not to burst into
laughter. Daniel, on the other hand, was choking on a mouthful of
roast beef. I clapped him on the back and handed him his water glass.
He gulped some and cleared his
throat. "Jesus, Patty. That's a rather personal question."
"It's
uptight people who impede the distribution of important information. Don't you
think, Aubrey?"
"Oh, I couldn't agree
more," I said, casting a meaningful glance at Daniel who narrowed his eyes
at me.
He turned back to his
grandmother. "Are you implying I'm uptight?"
"Implying?
No, no, I was stating it as a fact. I happen to believe you need to extricate
that rather long pole from—well, there's no need to discuss the sordid
details at the table," she said.
Daniel
put down his fork and looked back and forth between the two of
us. "Huh," he said, miffed. "Okay then. Allow me to put
your mind at rest. My oil is being changed fairly regularly. There. Satisfied?"
He
picked up his fork and forcefully stabbed a carrot. I hoped his comment wasn't intended as an admission that we were involved in an intimate
relationship. Patty quirked an eyebrow at me and I held up
my hands as if to say, “Don't look at
me.” She surveyed Daniel expectantly and he cleared his throat.
"Unfortunately,
I'm decidedly, um, self-employed, at the moment," he said.
About The Author
Georgina Guthrie is a self-professed book hugger and
compulsive diarist. Though GG now resides in Canada, she was born across the
pond and still considers herself a Brit through and through, which may explain
her frequent visits to her favourite local British import shop.
GG is often happiest when reading and writing, but she’s just as likely to be found hanging out with friends and family, almost certainly with a glass of red wine in one hand a bag of cheese and onion crisps in the other.

This
book definitely had more what I look for in a romance. This one was sprinkled nicely with some tense
moments, along with some very hot ones.
The waiting between Daniel and Aubrey at a certain point was killing me
and I just wanted them to get it on already!
I felt like at times Daniel was a
little too good to be true, and all that stuff he was doing was just laying it
on a little too thickly. Of course I
believe that there are men out there who are constant romantics, but the
constant flowers, and cards, and the calendar was just too much for me. It just became a little unrealistic to me
with all his romantic gestures.
GG is often happiest when reading and writing, but she’s just as likely to be found hanging out with friends and family, almost certainly with a glass of red wine in one hand a bag of cheese and onion crisps in the other.

Victoria Michaels then you will LOVE this book!
Basic Summary

First Impressions
So
far so good! I really like the pace of
this book and I honestly can’t put it down.
I think I read the first 135 pages in one sitting and the only reason I
put it down was because I had work the next morning and it was way past my bed
time. This one has definitely hooked me
instantly and I am loving every minute of it!
What I Loved
This
book definitely had more what I look for in a romance. This one was sprinkled nicely with some tense
moments, along with some very hot ones.
The waiting between Daniel and Aubrey at a certain point was killing me
and I just wanted them to get it on already!
Last
book I instantly fell in love with Daniel, while I had a hard time really
relating to Aubrey. I would say while I
was reading this one I finally got to fall for Aubrey the second time
around. I love that she is an
independent woman, and how loyal she is not only to Daniel but to her friends
as well.
Towards
the end of the book where Aubrey has finally graduated and she literally has no
idea what she wants to do with her life has me a little nervous and a little
excited all at the same time. I can’t
imagine going to college without having some sort of plan by the time you get
to your senior year. It’s still hard to
wrap my head around going to college for four years and not really figuring out
where that will lead next. But I like
that this book brought out those tense feelings in me, if I just sat here
stoically reading I would’ve hated this book, but my emotions were constantly
being called while I reading.
Not So Much
Also
I don’t understand why Aubrey’s parents aren’t really included in the series so
far. I understand they live far away so
obviously having them in scenes a lot is silly, but not even showing some of
their emails or phone calls bothered me.
You have Daniel’s whole family in many parts of this book, but there is
not even a scene that involves Aubrey and her mother talking about Europe. It was just a little unbalanced to me and
lacking in details to not have her parents in the book at all.
This Book Was…
Awesome! I loved the ending, a little bit of a cliff
hanger there but not too much that it would piss me off. There was a bit of foreshadowing which I
enjoyed and I can’t wait to see if any of my theories will play out. I love the chemistry between Daniel and
Aubrey and all that waiting and wanting definitely lead to some very hot scenes
that I couldn’t wait for! I don’t know
who was more anxious me or Aubrey and Daniel.
This
was a really great story that I simply could not put down. I love that not only is it a student teacher romance
but you get some really great lessons on Shakespeare as well. I like that this is a fun and easy romance,
with some drama mixed in. There were
definitely times where I was giggling while reading and other times when I got
a little hot from the steamy scenes.
Great story and wonderful series so far!
