Laura’s Review of the Final Debt (Indebted, #6) by Pepper Winters

Synopsis
The Last Book in the New York Times Bestselling Dark Romance Series. Where love tries to triumph and darkness continues to reign....

“I’m in love with her, but it might not be enough to stop her from becoming the latest victim of the Debt Inheritance. I know who I am now. I know what I must do. We will be together—I just hope it’s on Earth rather than in heaven.”

It all comes down to this.

Love versus life.

Debts versus death.

Who will win?
What I Loved
I couldn’t wait to start reading this book, I was counting down the seconds till November 30th so I could finally find out how all of this was going to end!!! The prologue immediately has you on the edge of your seat.  My heart was beating rapidly with my eyes bugging out of my head saying to myself oh my god this can’t be happening!!!

The first chapter picks up shortly after the Fourth Debt ended, with Daniel breaking the news to Nila that they were leaving the country to carry out the rest of the debts.  Nila is completely devastated because she knows this is where she is going to die, and Jethro has no clue that she is about to be thousands of miles away from him.  My heart just completely broke for both of them at this very moment.  I could feel Nila’s desperation when she’s taken away from Hawksridge because she feels there will be nobody to save her now.

I particularly liked this book because as far as character development we see a lot of change in Nila and in my opinion for the better.  She stands up for herself and defends herself in so many ways, and even though Jethro might come out the white knight in this series, I felt like Nila saved herself just as much as he did. So much happens in such a short amount of time your head is spinning about three quarters of the way through, but in a good way because I couldn’t put this story down and when I had to, it’s all I thought about until I finished it.
Not So Much
There really isn’t anything negative I have to say about this book because it was freaking awesome.  My only complaint was that this was a very wordy book and at times it really slowed down the plot.  I loved that it switched point of views and past to present but it really just delayed the inevitable and all I wanted to do was find out how all of this was going to end!

To Sum It All Up!
Overall this series has blown me away.  Pepper Winters has a magical way of painting this very dark world of debts and diamonds, but show some cracks of light throughout to keep you hoping and finally shatter all the darkness at the end.

This was a bittersweet story overall, there was a lot of love and happiness but a lot of loss and goodbyes as well.  I definitely had tears in my eyes at some parts that really touched my heart and of course at the end because I didn’t want this all to be over.  To say that Jethro and Nila have been through a lot is an understatement, but through all of their drama they still found love and managed to build an unbreakable bond.

The details in each book is so intricate and elaborate that it paints you a complete picture of every person, every scene and every action.  I was completely enthralled throughout the entire series which says just how astounding Pepper Winters is.  I love going on an emotional rollercoaster while reading and this series put me through the ringer.  Especially this one, which brought home just how important family and love and friendship truly is.  There were some very sad parts, some really bloody parts, and other really happy parts.  By the end I hope this book leaves you just as breathless as it left me.
