What I Loved
The book picks up a little bit after book one ended with
Jett frantically trying to find Brooke, and Brook and Sylvie on their way to
Italy to meet Alessandro Lucazzone.
Brooke is nursing her broken heart while at the same time checking the
vast property she is about to inherit and what this all means for her
life. At the end of the first book my
heart just broke for Brooke so much and I just wanted her to and Jett to be
happy together. Once they finally lay
eyes on each other the sexual tension between them was so thick I couldn’t put
this book down. I couldn’t wait for them
to just start tearing each other’s clothes off and go at it all night
long. Jett once again is as amazing as
ever, and although there is still a ton of mystery when it comes to Jett
Mayfield, you do get to learn some new things about him which I really
like.
This book wasn’t without tons of
action and I’m not just talking about sex.
The mystery of estate that Brooke is about inherit is still going strong
and by the end of this installment you probably have more questions than
answers. I love the mysterious part the
most I think because there is just so much to find out and learn still and it
has kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. Of course there are some big bombshells not
just when it comes to the estate but other aspects of Brooke’s life as
well. I love that this story ended on
more of a high note, no cliffhangers in site (for now at least).
Not So Much
This was a really great story but I did feel like at
times the plot was a little thin with very slow movement towards an
outcome. There was a lot of drama and
some action, but I guess I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, for
something completely horrible to happen and it just never did. There was progression with Jett and Brooke’s
relationship but other story lines just didn’t move along as much.
Once again I just don’t like the
character of Sylvie at all, she just seems so selfish and self-centered. To me she is more concerned with having a
good time and getting completely plastered every single night then actually
being there for her friend, who invited her to go to Italy with her and stay on
a beautiful estate. At one point she
kind of left Brooke at a club, and I’m just thinking they’re in the middle of a
foreign country and this girl just left her friend in a night club with
strangers all around her. She just doesn’t
seem to have a huge purpose for me, and takes away from me enjoying the
book.
To Sum It All
Up!
