Laura’s Review of For the Record (Record, #3) by K.A. Linde

If you have read and enjoyed Extreme Close-Up (Perspectives, #2) by Julie Jaret, Forever with You (Fixed, #3) by Laurelin Paige, and Beautiful Stranger (Beautiful Bastard, #2) by Christina Lauren then you will LOVE this book!

Synopsis
With Congressman Brady Maxwell up for reelection and journalist Liz Dougherty about to graduate into a promising career, the ambitious couple’s future is brighter than ever. They share a passion for their work…and for each other. But when Brady holds a press conference to officially introduce Liz as his girlfriend, reporters hungry for a scandal bombard her. Now, her every move is under a vicious magnifying glass, and her life feels like it’s falling apart.

On the road to reelection, the passionate bond between the congressman and the journalist gets tested at every stop. Threatened by shameless media sensationalism and jealous exes, Brady and Liz now have to learn to trust each other despite what they read in the papers.

In the finale to USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s sexy Record trilogy, Liz and Brady may be setting off fireworks along the campaign trail, but can their love transcend politics as usual?

What I Loved
Well I’m not quite sure where to begin.  Beginning this book was very bittersweet for me because I love Liz and Brady so much and I wasn’t ready to say good bye to them.  I’m still not ready, but what a way to end!

For the Record picks up the very next day where On the Record left off, with Brady and Liz ready to bring their relationship public and all the drama that goes with that.  We once again are sucked into Liz’s chaotic life, of finding her way through her last semester of college, trying to figure out what’s next for her professionally while at the same time navigating the waters of public life with a very hot Congressman.  This book starts out with a BANG, which I loved very much.  I finished the first chapter and said to myself “now that’s what I’m talking about!”

I have said before how much I love the fact that Liz is a very headstrong independent woman, especially when it comes to her career and this book just brings out all those wonderful qualities in the character.  I love that she holds onto her dreams in each one of these books and I won’t tell you where all that leads her in the future but I will say I am happy with her decisions.  I love every single thing that Brady has brought to this entire series from the very beginning he had my giggling like a teenager and that didn’t stop till the very last page!  I fell in love with his charm immediately and he had me tears a couple times while reading this one, he is one hot politician that I can't get enough of!

Not So Much

I have very little negatives things to say about this book; since this is a 5 star review my negative section will be pretty short.  I guess my only complaint would be that I wish we got to delve into Brady’s parents a little bit more.  Although we do get to see more of his parent’s, I wish I understood how they really felt about Liz and Brady, at least in the beginning.  Especially Brady’s dad, he always intrigued me because Brady was following in his father’s footsteps and he was such a huge influence in his life.  I just wish I would’ve gotten to see what his feelings were about all that was going on.

This Book Was…

So amazing, there are not enough words for how much I loved it.  I was kind of sad beginning this book because I knew that when I finished it, this would all be over.  Yet at the same time I couldn’t put this story down because I just love Brady and Liz so freaking much.  The sexual chemistry between Brady and Liz is still very apparent throughout the entire story and thank you very much K.A. Linde for that because there were plenty of hot steamy scenes to enjoy.  There was a lot of wonderful highs in this story, and some dramatic lows, but that just makes you appreciate all those highs. It was great to see Brady and Liz in an actual relationship and see them settle into a life where they are together and out in the public eye.  It was wonderful to watch them find each other again, and appreciate all these new experiences even more because they know what it’s like to be without one another.  The epilogue had me in tears (happy ones); it was very bittersweet but definitely left me with a huge smile on my face.  This was such a great series, and I am so happy I got to go along on this crazy ride with Brady and Liz, and watch them fall in love.  It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to these characters, and I’m sure one day soon this entire series will be a re-read for me more than once.
