Kimber S. Dawn Interview

An Interview with Kimber S. Dawn

What were you like as a child?

I was very awkward during my childhood. I didn't like standing out at all. I mostly just hung out with myself or my little brother and his friends.

Who was your favorite author/book as a child? now?

Child= R.L. Stein baby! Now, I have to say Karen Marie Moning, her Fever series changed me forever!

If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what age would you go to and what advice would you give?

You don't have to live how your parents tell you too. Life if YOUR decision, and no one else's.

What did you do before you became a writer?

Deliver babies.

What inspired you to write?

A Woman Gone Mad was a long time in the making. It was going to come out, I just didn't know when until one day I just started writing.

Any advice you would give to an inspiring author?

Just fucking write! You are the only thing standing between yourself and that story being told.

Which book of yours is your favorite? Why?

That Which Destroys Me, because I honestly didn't think I had it in me. The entire time I was writing it, I knew it was going to be a good read. With my other books all I thought was "This is shit. No one is going to like it, much less finish it!" Hahaha

Which book of your was the easiest to write? hardest? Why?

All 3 books took me 4 weeks to write. That Which Destroys Me came out even faster, like 90 % of the book took me 2 weeks to write. But the last 10% took me two weeks, I had to fight the ending, and in the end it won, not me.

How long, approximately, does it take you to write an entire book?

4 weeks

Do you have a certain routine when you write? ie. listen to music, perfect silence, a special place, a drink or food you like to have, etc.

Quiet place and a diet coke. That is all I need, lol.

Are you working on a book now? If so, when should we expect it? Any information or cover you can tell us about?

Roman is my work in process. I'm taking it slow with this story. I it to have time and patience. My other books never required patience, Roman is much more detailed and complex. He has a lot of issues that he doesn't know about or understand that it isn't acceptable, no matter how much you think of yourself, society would not agree with his brand of kinkery.
