Basic Summary: An old flame
rekindled…
Zara Cinders
always knew Ham Reece was the one, but he wasn't interested in setting
down. When she found someone who was,
Ham walked out of her life. Three years
later, Zara’s lost her business, her marriage, and she’s barely getting by in a
tiny apartment on the wrong side of the tracks.
As soon as Ham hears about Zara’s plight, he’s on her doorstep offering
her a lifeline. Now, it will take every
ounce of will power she possesses to resist all that he offers.
Ham was always a
traveling man, never one to settle down in one town, with one woman, for more
time than absolutely necessary. But
Ham’s faced his own demons, and he’s learned a lot. About himself and about the life he knows
he’s meant to live. So when he hears
that Zara’s having a rough time, he wants to be the one to help. In fact he wants to do more than that for
Zara. A lot more. But first, he must prove to Zara that he’s
changed man.
What I Love About
This Book: Well first, this is
a Kristen Ashley book and I because of that reason I love it right off the
bat. Also I think as a woman we can all
put ourselves in Zara’s position where the man you really want is unattainable
and just how heartbreaking that can be when you’re forced to walk away. We all have that “one who got away” in our
lives, and that makes Zara a very lovable and relatable character from page
one.
I liked Graham
Reece from the ‘Burg series, and I fell in love with him in this book. He’s a freaking awesome character and it was great to see him get
his happily ever after. A lot of scenes
in this book are heartwarming, and while reading the epilogue I almost shed a
couple of tears. I also like that Nina
and Max are in this book a lot, it was great to get back to Gnaw Bone and to
the original couple in this series. The
other books in this series took place in the town over called Carnal, so it’s
been awhile since a book took place in Gnaw Bone. This book is what makes me love Kristen Ashley
and everything she writes, her books can you make you laugh and cry within
seconds of each other, making you lose
faith in the human race then five minutes later make you believe in the power
of love. Jagged is a great story, with a
freaking kick ass ending with not only great main characters but awesome
secondary characters as well.
Cons: There wasn't a ton
of drama in this book; the climax of this one was a little bit less dramatic
than what is typical in a Kristen Ashley story.
I love Kristen Ashley books I really do, but sometimes I kind of wish
they varied a little bit more. The
characters are all kind of the same, the flow of the books are all the same as
well so after reading tons of her books the surprises are less and less. Also there were some lulls in the book that I
felt like “alright let’s move this along please” and there were a couple times
while reading this book I got a little bored.
Overall: I love Kristen
Ashley, and I love this series. I think
this was the first series I read from her and it was love at first sight. Jagged is a great story with compelling
characters filled with bitter sweet pasts, and happy futures. Graham Reece doesn't let me down in the
Colorado man department because he is hot hot hot!!! Great story, love that
details that goes into describing things in this book. Kristen Ashley never disappoints me in that category
where I feel soooooooo many other authors’ lack not understanding how important
that little things are that go into character development. Can’t wait for the next book in this series Kaleidoscope
that is set to come out in February 2014, or any other book Kristen
Ashley has coming out because she is an awesome author and I worship that
ground she walks on!
