Who Will Replace Charlie Hunnam?????

Now that Charlie Hunnam has pulled out of Fifty Shades of Grey, and through the rumor mill I have heard that screen tests has started up against late last week rumors have been swirling about who will replace him as Christian Grey?!?!?!

Christian Cooke

The names I'm hearing the most are Christian Cooke (great first name) who plays Mercutio in the new Romeo & Juliet movie.  He's British as is EL James, and Sam Taylor-Johnson, so I see him having a little bit more of an in.  He's definitely hot, and from this picture he can pull off the sex appeal that is needed to play Christian Grey.  Totally hot, but very much put together and can pull off a three pierce suit, as well as jeans and a t-shirt.  

Francois Arnaud

The next name I've been hearing a lot is Francois Arnaud, who in Showtime's The Borgias, I love period TV shows so I'm already instant fan of his even though I've never seen the show this is definitely lighting the fire in me to start watching that show.  I was a huge fan of The Tudors, so I can totally see myself liking this one as well. Francois looks to me like he can pull of that damaged goods part of Christian, the dark mysterious side of Christian that haunts him for most of the series.  

Billy Magnussen

Alexander Skarsgard 

Another name I hear a lot is Billy Magnussen, who used to be on As The World Turns, and who was recently in The East with the love of my life Alexander Skarsgard!  Whose name is also being tossed around for the role of Christian Grey. You got to admit Billy has those crazy beautiful gray eyes down!!!! YES PLEASE!!! He's got the great hair (which to me will probably he dyed if he plays Christian) a strong jaw, and a demeanor that screams DOMINANT the minute you look at him.  Askars in many ways has the same body type of Charlie Hunnam, very tall, lean muscle, blonde hair, blue eyes.  As Eric Northman he gives off the scary yet sexy vibe very well.  If you've seen True Blood then you know he has no problem tying women up to have marathon sex sessions with him.  Nudity doesn't bother this Swede which makes me love him even more!! He gives off a very dark mysterious and dangerous vibe in True Blood, so you know he's honed his skills perfectly to play the role as Christian Grey!

Matt Bomer

Of course Matt Bomer and Ian Somerholder are always mentioned when talking about Christrian Grey but for they were never people who I saw that could play this character.  The thing that makes Christian Grey, so very sexy and Christian is the air around him, the message that roles off his body as he enters a room and interacts with people and an actor has to be able to give off that same message without saying a word.  I don't see Ian Somerholder being that intimidating, and Matt Bomer for me is just a little too old and kind of too pretty for my taste.    My number one choice has always been Chris Pine, because he pull off serious and mysterious one minute then look like the 27 year old boy Christian sometimes acts like in the books.  But I know in reality that will never happen and it should be a kind of no namer, it shouldn't be someone like Robert Pattinson or Alexander Skarsgard who are already very well established actors.  I get the RPatz appeal and we all have to remember this series started out as a Twilight fan fiction and in a lot of ways Christian looks and takes after Edward Cullen, and we all know how much RPatz just loves Edward Cullen right about now (NOT!).  

Scott Eastwood

I kind of like Scott Eastwood, Clint Eastwood's son myself.  He's kind of just popped out of nowhere lately and he is just too hot for words.  He has a great young, fresh look to him on top of being sexy as well with a killer smile and his eyes are beyond gorgeous.  The other popular name I hear a lot is Jamie Dornan, who I loved because he is one of my book boyfriends, and I was thoroughly traumatized when they killed him Once Upon a Time in the first season!!! He played an awesome Sheriff and a sexy Huntsman and then bam! GONE!!! So unfair! I think Jamie Dornan could totally pull of this role, he's 31 so he's not too much older than the 27 year old Christian Grey.  He is SEXY SEXY SEXY!!!!!!!!

     There are tons of rumors swirling around this movie, from Charlie dropping out to Dakota Johnson having trouble with finding her inner Anna.  We do know that a new writer was hired recently to "polish" up the script and one of the rumors was that Charlie had a hard time with the script himself and made a lot corrections, so the fact that they did bring in someone to change things up doesn't surprise me.  Also it seems that the role of Carla, Anna's mother has been cast and is being played by Jennifer Ehle.  She played Elizabeth Bennett in Pride & Prejudice, and was also in Zero Dark Thirty, she's an awesome actress so I can't wait to see her in this movie.  

    Whoever does take up the role of Christian Grey has to be ready for the negative attention though and remember, millions of little girls out there HATED Robert Pattinson when was cast as Edward Cullen and look how well that turned out.  If you have follwed Charlie Hunnam's career all that attention for him must have been very daunting, he has always been a VERY private person and this would've uprooted his entire life for a very long time.  So I can totally see it being plausible that he pulled out because of all the attention, for an actor who tends to live under the radar, going from quiet to paparazzi stalking your every move so quickly would make anyone's head spin.  With filming set to begin around November 5th, hopefully we will have an answer soon!!!!!
