Gone Girl Movie Adaption Casting

The wonderful and crazy (with a capital C) book Gone Girl is going to be on the big screen and I cannot be more excited to see this movie when it comes out!   David Fincher is set to direct the movie that will be released around October 2014.  He is known for his directing on The Social Network, Fight Club, and the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  Having David Fincher as director of this movie definitely puts a lot of weight as this being a movie that should be taken seriously, unlike a movie that was a popular book but on the big screen is kind of a joke (Twilight).

Rosamund Pike

Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck is set to be the leading man playing Nick Dunne, a victim of circumstances in some ways and in others gets exactly what he deserves at the end of everything.  I think Ben Affleck will be awesome in this role and I can’t wait to see him in this movie!! Nick Dunne is such a schmuck in so many ways you want to slap him and comfort him all at the same time, and Ben is definitely the person to pull that off and giving it an award winning performance!  Playing opposite him will be Rosamund Pike as the notorious Amy Dunne.  I cannot, CANNOT, wait to see her in this role, she isn’t really known here in America as a popular actress which is okay because she has huge shoes to fill in this role.  Gillian Flynn blew my mind writing this book, I was completely speechless at a certain point and it’s all because of Amy Dunne!!!!!! Rosamund Pike has played the beautiful but shy Jane Bennett in Pride & Prejudice, and played Helen in An Education.  She is British born and like I said she isn’t that well known in America, but for how popular is this book is and how popular the movie will be you need a unknown in this role.
Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris will play the love sick, and just plain sick Desi Collings (its spelled Collings in the book but Collins on IMBD) in the movie adaption.  He’s such a great actor and I think anything he’s in he will do it beautifully.  I think he can play crazy well, and it will be interesting to see him put his own spin on this role!

Tyler Perry
Tyler Perry, will play Tanner Bolt a notorious nationally recognized lawyer who is known for getting off husbands who have been accused of killing their wives.  It will be interesting to see Tyler play such a ruthless character, and I totally think he is the right person to do this.  He’s obviously played a lawyer before in his Madea movies so he’s already got the legal lingo down pat!   Obviously this movie is a little darker and way more twisted than maybe some of his other roles, but that doesn’t mean he can’t pull it off.

Emily Ratajkowski will play the other woman Andie in the movie.  She’s the student turned kind of deranged mistress that Nick
Emily Ratajkowski
Dunne thinks he falls in love at a certain point, and it’s because of this beautiful Andie that got all this rolling in the first place.  Emily Ratajkowski isn’t very well known, she grew up in England with a Polish father and an English mother.  She is mostly known for being the topless brunette girl in Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines R-Rated music video that became viral on YouTube.  We all know what she looks like mostly naked already so we knows she is one sexy lady, and to be honest she was my favorite girl in the music video.

The movie is set to be released late next year, and will be filmed in parts of Missouri and of course good old Los Angeles.  Gillian Flynn has not only wrote the novel, but the screen play as well so that gives the movie to more credibility.  It’s nice to know that the original story line will probably not be completely butchered for the sake of a more entertaining movie.  Obviously things will be cut out and skipped over but that’s just how it is and we need to accept it.  Reese Witherspoon who many thought would play Amy Dunne for a while is a producer on this movie which is pretty cool, and will definitely had to some highlights to her career as well.

If you've read this book, are you excited to see this all play out on the big screen??
