What
I Loved

You meet Liberty at
a pretty embarrassing moment that had me laughing out loud but falling in love
with her instantaneously. As a single
lady myself I’m wondering about the power of Liberty’s vibrator and the
construction of her and Hetch’s walls!
My love for Liberty just grew from there because she doesn’t take crap
from no one, stands up to Hetch when other ladies would simply smile and bend
over and throws attitude when needed. I
loved how strong willed Liberty is, and how dedicated she is to her job and her
beliefs. My heart totally went out to
her at times and although Hetch might have grabbed my attention in the
beginning it was Liberty that kept me emotionally attached to this story till
the very end.
Not
So Much
Overall I have very little complaints
about this story because it was so freaking awesome! I do wish there was more
detail paid towards the backgrounds. I
really have no idea what Hetch’s or Liberty’s apartments look like or Hetch’s
home for that matter.
Also some of the colloquialisms don’t really match with American
culture. I’ve seen in it in River’s books
before, for example when she refers to women as “falling pregnant”. I get that’s how it’s referred to in other
countries, but in America women get pregnant, we don’t fall into it. We don’t put money into the “kitty” we put
money into the piggy bank or register.
If this book was taking place in England or Australia this would all
make sense, but this story is supposed to take place in Arizona so the
colloquialisms should fit the culture.
To
Sum It All Up!
No good story would be complete
without some suspense and there was a ton of that as well. Hetch’s job kept me on the edge of my seat
and it was pretty cool to not just get drips and drabs of his job but
experience actual procedures. It really
put me in the driver’s seat when it came to the action and made me love the
story even more. The same can be said
for Liberty’s job as well, even if her job isn’t as scary, her dedication put
her into some nail biting situations that had my heart pounding out of my
chest.
There is a HEA at the end, although it’s
a long rough road to get there so hold on tight! This was a great way to begin a series
because not only do you get introduced to Hetch and Liberty, you get to know
many other characters as well which I’m sure will have their own stories as the
series moves along. If you’re a fan of
River Savage’s Knights Rebels MC series then you will certainly love this one
as well, they are both totally awesome but different enough you won’t feel one
is just a repeat of the other. I cannot
wait to see what is in store for the Men of S.W.A.T. next!!
