Synopsis
The Conclusion of Gwen and JC's Story
Gwen Anders came to The Sky Launch to begin fresh, away from the horrors of her past. She fit in quickly, becoming good friends with her co-manager, Alayna Withers and the owner of the club, Hudson Pierce. Though the circumstances that brought her here were not the best, she's never felt more at home.
But starting a new life means letting go. And there are some things she doesn't want to leave behind - like JC, the man who taught her how to let loose. The man she wasn't supposed to fall in love with. The man she doesn't want to lose.
Now, with the reason she ran still a threat, Gwen fears she'll never be able to move on completely. And if she does, can she still hold out hope that JC loves her enough to come and find her?

What
I Loved
You get more of JC’s
backstory in Find Me and find out more of the details that lead him to going
into witness protection and testifying in this huge murder trial. His back story to me was gripping and my heart
broke for him which just made me love JC even more. When JC and Gwen finally do come together, it’s
nothing less than complete fireworks which left me fanning myself a little
because it was so freaking hot. I love
the two of them together and all the drama and angst between them just added to
the plot and made me even more addicted then I already was.
Not
So Much
I think the big inconsistency
with Gwen and Chandler kind of threw me off a little. It’s pretty apparent in the beginning that
Chandler was a boy toy to Gwen and nothing more. But she at a certain point kind of wavers and
questions if Chandler is her future. It
just didn’t vibe with the rest of the plot for me, to have some dude be a hook
up, to reconnecting with the love your life, then questioning if a 19 year old
is the one for you. The back and forth
should have just ended early on, no matter Chandler’s feelings or not it
stunted the plot for me.
Also I felt like the ending was tied up a
little too nicely for all the shit swirling around JC and Gwen. The story was pretty steady with a lead up to
the climax but then things got wrapped up really rapidly. Within a paragraph all the drama going on in
Gwen and JC’s life is solved and all is right with the world. I’m not saying it should’ve been drawn out
but it would’ve been better to keep the pace of the story rather than have it
slow and steady in the beginning to really fast at the end. I don’t know if that makes any sense but I
felt like one minute there was all this drama and the next it’s was all solved
and everyone is happy.
To
Sum It All Up!
I couldn’t wait to
get my hands on this book! Free Me left me broken hearted and needing more so I
was counting down the days till Find Me came out and I was not disappointed! I
already gave away some spoilers earlier in this review so I’m not going to give
anymore. I will say there are definitely
some suspenseful moments in the story and my heart broke during others. I definitely had tears in my eyes sometimes
they were sad ones and sometimes they were happy ones. I do wish the plot kept the same pace
throughout, but I get that eventually everything has to be wrapped up so the
book can end. JC and Gwen are hot
together and their love for one another was enduring and beautiful. I’m so glad these two found each other again
and I’m excited to see what Laurelin Paige writes next!
