Laura's Review of Revive (Storm MC, #3) by Nina Levine

Synopsis
He doesn’t do relationships. Neither does she. But they can’t fight the attraction any longer…

Nash Walker hides the demons that consume his soul. He buries them deep and distracts himself with sex. Anything to avoid facing a past full of heartbreak and regret; anything to numb the pain that he struggles with daily.

Velvet Carr has spent years fighting her demons. It’s a fight she’s winning. That is, until Nash crashes his way into her life and into her heart.

It started out as a bit of harmless fun between friends; it wasn’t meant to get complicated for either of them. But when two broken souls come together and arouse unwanted feelings in each other, complicated is what happens.

Can Nash and Velvet help heal each other and revive the love in their lives that they’ve both been refusing to allow in for years? Or will they let their demons ruin any chance they may have at happiness?

What I Loved
Well it was so wonderful jump right back into the world of hard care bikers especially if they are members of the Storm MC!  I was so excited to finally get to Nash’s story and find out what makes this very sexy man tick.  And boy was I not disappointed in the least, because Nash has got some pretty serious demons that I would never have thought lurked in his past.

Velvet was a pretty awesome character; I think she is probably my favorite female so far in this series.  She’s very down to earth, and very real making it easy to get emotionally invested in her happiness.  I especially loved that she wasn’t this wide eyed innocent naïve girl who couldn’t understand why such a handsome man is in love with her.  No, Velvet is strong, independent, and knows what she can bring to the table in relationship and doesn’t take shit from anyone.  If there is anyone that can put up with Nash, it’s definitely Velvet.  I absolutely loved them together, and the sex scenes that went between them were nothing less that scorching.

Not So Much
Like other books in this series, I just wish there was more background details to add to the plot.  Once again there are no real details that address what the Storm Club House looks like, or even what Indigo looks like.  I get that this is a series, but any kind of description that has been in other books then it should be in this one as well.  These can be read as a standalone and there should be some sort of background details included in each story, even if you have read the other books it’s nice to have that refresher even if it’s just one paragraph.

Also as much I love Nash, there really wasn’t any real description of his looks in the beginning of the book.  Velvet is described pretty clearly in the prologue but it takes a while to figure out what Nash looks like and the first two chapters are strictly from his point of view. There is plenty of talk about his rocking body, but it wasn’t really laid out what he looked till later in the book and even then it’s a little scattered so it was hard to get a hold on what Nash really looked in the very beginning.

To Sum It All Up!

So far this is my favorite book in this series, partly because I couldn’t wait to the “ladies man” to meet his match but also because I definitely saw a real improvement in the writing.  I didn’t feel like the sentences were as fractured as the books before, and the plot felt like it flowed more naturally.  Although there wasn’t as much drama in this story as there has been in the other two books, this one was definitely more heart felt and because of that it still hooks you in.  I really enjoy the over arc to this series, we all know all this drama swirling with Marcus and the Club will come to a head but as each book goes on, the anticipation builds more and more and I love that.  I cannot freaking wait to see how this will all play out, and I especially can’t wait to get into Blade’s head and find out what is behind that serious demeanor of his.
