“I need to tell you why I was so afraid to fall in love with you again. Why from the moment I saw you in the restaurant I tried to deny any feelings I still had for you. He was the Dark Angel. He came and stole what she had desperately tried to hold onto: her heart. Charlie Mason thought she knew better until her insecurities overruled and she again believed he broke her.

In a bid to finally find their happily ever after, Lex and Charlie find themselves on a journey of learning how to love again. Excerpt
Finally he pulled me in, our lips only inches apart. His warm breath lingered in the air between us. I closed my eyes, waiting in anticipation to feel his lips against mine, but it was his finger I felt, tracing my bottom lip. My chest rising and falling at a fast pace, I shivered from his touch. His mouth lingered on my bottom lip, and what only was seconds but felt like hours, he gently sucked on my lip, savoring this moment. Everything that weighed heavily on my shoulders slowly lifted as his kiss spread throughout me, shining a light on every part of me that had been encased in darkness. He was mine, and I was his. And I knew that I wanted his kiss for the rest of my life and nobody else’s. He was the one... He was always the one.

What I Loved
Into the Light picks up right where Into the Darkness left off, with a grieving Charlie that has escaped the Hamptons back to NYC.  I love that this story starts off from other people’s point of view rather than Charlie or Lex’s, you get to see what was going on with main characters still but from another person’s side of the story.

This book is definitely actioned pack, and brings the reader on a most unexpected journey.  I was able to predict a few things from book one, but even though I was right the story wasn’t boring and I still was on the edge of my seat.  A lot of questions are finally answered as well, and once again we get to step back into the past a little bit and see how it all went down between Charlie and Lex.

I love emotional books, I love stories that show just how strong love can be.  This book definitely falls into these two characters, there were times when my heart was just completely broken and other times when I couldn’t stop smiling.  I was addicted from the very first word to the very last one.

Not So Much
The writing was definitely better in this book compared to the first one.  Although I did notice some inconsistencies and the story was definitely lacking in details.  When it came to things like Charlie’s apartment, or Lex’s place in London there was just no specific detail at all.  I like it when the details are there because they just suck me more into the story, giving me a clearer picture of what is going on.

Also there were times when I could tell that the author was not American, because a lot of the word usage, and sayings were not American. I could understand that when it was from Lex’s point of view, but when it’s from anyone else’s the colloquialisms should be American; it makes the story more genuine, giving it a stronger foundation.

This Book Was
Breathtaking! There is so much that goes on in just this one book, I was emotionally drained by the time I was done.  This story doesn’t teach you just how much love can conquer, but how important family and friends are when going through very dark times.  Although the end of the story made me smile, it was definitely very bittersweet, making you appreciate all the good times these characters have had together.   There were definitely things I wasn’t expecting but made me smile anyway, and then there were times I was crying like a baby because my heart was just breaking.  Be prepared for some tough times with these characters, but also celebrate the amazingly good times with as well.
