Laura’s Review of Devil’s Vengeance (Sydney Storm, MC #3) By Nina Levine

Synopsis
I know she’s forbidden.
I’ve been warned.
But I’m in too deep.

Hailee Archer was mine the minute I met her and there’s no way in hell I’m giving her up.

Our club is at war, though, and her brother is our greatest ally.
He’s made it clear he doesn’t want me anywhere near her.
He’s threatened to walk away from our club if he doesn’t get what he wants.

What he doesn’t know about me is that I’m a stubborn bastard.
I will fucking fight to the bitter end for my family.
He wants to threaten me?
He can go right the fuck ahead.
He doesn’t stand a chance.

This story contains all the panty-melting sexiness and alpha goodness that Nina Levine books are known for.

What I Loved
Yay another Nina Levine Storm MC book!!! I couldn’t wait to jump back into the crazy world of Storm and see who was going to fall in love next.  Devil was someone who somewhat interested me in the past so I was happy to get around to his story.  I loved that the book started right from his point of view laying the foundation very quickly for the plot.  There wasn’t a ton of lead in, which I really liked because from the very beginning you sense the chemistry between Hailee and Devil and from there sparks fly between these two.

Hailee was an easy girl to relate to, making it easy for me to became emotionally involved in the plot line and I stayed that way till the very end.  I loved her boldness and no nonsense attitude when it came to her feelings for Devil and about life in general.  She was a woman with a big heart but had a lot of common sense and made good decisions.  I loved how attracted she was to Devil and how they couldn’t get enough of each other from beginning to end.  I feel like there were more scenes of Hailee ripping Devil’s clothes off rather than the other way around, and I absolutely loved that.

Devil was an easy dude to fall for from the very beginning and as the story played out I fell even deeper.  I loved his tough guy exterior and his no bullshit attitude but was willing to lay it all on the line for the woman he loved.  He certainly had a temper and throughout the story that showed at times but was willing to learn from his mistakes and grow.

Not So Much

I do wish there were more details added into the story.  For example, Hailee, is the lead singer of a band and she talks about her band mates but there was no physical description of what they look like.  The same goes for Hailee’s and Devil’s houses, there is no real explanation of what these places looks like or how they are laid out at all.  I like having those types of details in a book so I can get a full picture of the story going on around me.

Also, I did feel like there were some plotlines that were dropped or rather not followed through the way I felt like they should have.  I don’t want to give anything away but there is a discussion Devil has about his family and some suggestions are made but it’s never talked about again.  To me, it was a missed opportunity to give the story more depth and possibly attach myself even more to Devil’s character.  It certainly would’ve showed another layer of Devil that is only sort of talked about but never delved too much into.  His past is always talked about in bits and pieces from his point of view, but I wish it was more thought out with more description.  To me it just created plot holes where there didn’t need to be.

To Sum It All Up!
Overall, I was happy with this story and by the end I wanted more Devil and Hailee in my life.  In every Nine Levine book, there is of course suspense and this one was no exception to that rule. What I enjoyed the most was that I had no idea what was going to happen next.  I was a little shocked when shit finally hit the fan because I did not see it coming at all!  I love stories I can’t predict the outcomes to and Devil’s Vengeance fits that bill!

There were some overarching plot lines that did come to end in this story which I really liked, but of course when one ends another begins!  I’m not giving anything away but all is not well in the Storm MC world.  I also really liked that the Brisbane Storm MC chapter got involved a little because I miss those guys! The end of this book does you lead into the next and I can certainly say I am more than a little intrigued! Although after all the crap that went down in this book I do wish that King’s story was next rather than Hyde’s.

I loved the chemistry between Devil and Hailee, watching them fall for each other so quickly was heartwarming at times. There was a lot of hot sex scenes in this one so if you’re in need of a hot naked biker than this is the book for you.  The way they couldn’t get enough of each other was enthralling and kept me addicted right from the start.  The writing was on point and I liked the switching point of views so you get to see what both characters are thinking and where they are coming from.  This was a quick, sizzling hot read and I cannot wait to see what comes next for the Sydney Storm MC.
