Laura’s Review of Fallacy (Apprehensive Duet, #1) by Kimberly Bracco

Synopsis

It was only supposed to be one night. One night of hot, no-strings-attached sex.

But what happens when one night turns into two years? Two of the best years of their lives... until it wasn't.

Quinn Taylor doesn't believe in happily-ever-afters. Her heart hardened by the past. Despite Quinn's inability to trust, Alex Conway knows there's something worth fighting for.
Alex makes Quinn question everything she's ever believed to be true about men. She doesn't want to let him in but there's no denying he's under her skin.

Just when Alex thinks he's broken down her walls, Quinn runs, breaking his heart, and he has no idea why.

After two long years without closure, Alex has finally had enough of wondering what went wrong. He's determined to win Quinn back. The only problem... she's engaged to someone else.

Can Alex figure out how to win back the love of his life before she breaks both their hearts irrevocably? Will Quinn realize that everything she's ever believed is all a fallacy?

***While this series can be read without reading The Uninhibited Series, it is a spin-off that contains spoilers for the first series. It is suggested you read Inhibitions, Unrestricted and Freed first.***
What I Loved
I was so freaking excited to finally get my hands on Alex and Quinn’s story!! I totally fell in love with Ashley and Tanner from the UnInhibited Series and it was obvious things went down between Alex and Quinn so I couldn’t wait to find out what it was.

The chemistry between Alex and Quinn was instantaneous and I loved watching them build a relationship little by little.  It was so wonderful to see Quinn learn to depend on someone other than herself while at the same time still be able to kick ass when needed.  I’m such a huge a fan of strong female characters that bring as much to a relationship as they get and Quinn is the perfect example of that.  She can be stubborn and loud mouthed but has a strong head on her shoulders and goes after what she wants.

I really loved that the book switched point of views as well so we not only got Quinn’s point of view but got Alex’s as well.  I loved to learn more about Alex and what exactly makes this sexy man tick!  The more I read about this dude the more I fell in love with him and as the story went on my heart just broke for him in so many ways.  He’s such a great guy and he proves that over and over again.  Alex is truly the whole package!
Not So Much
I get that this is spinoff of the UnInhibited Series and I’ve read that series and loved it. But I can’t remember every single thing that happened in it so it would’ve been more helpful to have a little bit more detail from that book when it came to supporting this plot.  There was a point in this story where it mentions Tanner and Ashley were fighting and I couldn’t remember at all what they were fighting about.  I know you don’t have to have read the other series to read this one, and I agree with that but I do feel that if you haven’t you might feel like you’re missing out on something because without that information there would be a lot more plot holes in this book.
To Sum It All Up!

Overall, this was another awesome story by Kimerbly Bracco.  Quinn and Alex’s love story is filled with passion, love and heartache.  The minute Alex sees Quinn the chemistry sizzles, and I couldn’t wait for them to tear each other’s clothes off and the story just got better from there!! I liked that the book spanned a longer period of time then most because it covered a lot of ground and showed a lot of character development.  A solid foundation was established in the beginning, really explaining and showing where both characters were coming from and how much they had grown or not grown as the plot moved along.  I never thought the story slowed down or went too fast even though it covered years rather than just a few weeks or months like most romances.  Of course there is a massive cliff hanger at the end so if you are not a fan of those I suggest you hold off on reading this one until Irrefutable comes out.
