Synopsis
You’re The Lights...
Sebastian had one rule.
No women on the back of his bike. Period.
The one time he broke that rule, he killed the woman that was carrying his child.
Then comes Baylee Roberts. She makes Sebastian want to break every single rule he’d ever implemented. Hell, but she even makes him consider that dreaded H word. A helmet.
To My...
Baylee Roberts innocently walked into her bathroom never expecting that she’d find a man in there. It is her bathroom after all, and she lives alone.
From the instant he placed his hat on her head to protect her from the sun, Baylee’s mind becomes filled with thoughts of a certain biker.
She really shouldn't go there. There’s no telling what kind of dangerous things he does for The Dixie Wardens MC.
Siren...
Nothing is ever as easy as it should be. Their relationship’s one of them.
Baylee’s brother is a cop. Baylee’s father is a cop. Which inevitably means that Baylee’s going to have certain hang-ups about being with a man like himself.
Sebastian has a lot on his plate with his busy job as a firefighter, a single father, and the vice president of The Dixie Wardens MC.
Not enough, though, to keep him away from Baylee.
When a series of arsons rattle their hometown and puts Sebastian’s life on the line, Baylee finally realizes the only fire Sebastian can’t put out is the one inside her heart.

What I
Loved
The foundation of the story was spot on and I really loved the
character development on top of that.
Sebastian is one sexy fireman/ MC vice president and a whole hell of a
lot of other things. I love how in love
he is with Baylee and how possessive he instantly gets when another man comes
sniffing around. I have a weakness for
alphas with tempers, and Sebastian definitely fits into that category. I really enjoy the character of Baylee as
well, she’s one sexy woman who knows what she has and owns it. She doesn’t expect a man to take care of her
and has no problem doing it all her own.
She’s definitely a very relatable character and it’s easy to become
engrossed in her happiness.
Not So
Much
I really wanted to absolutely love this book, and maybe that’s
my own fault for having such high expectations but there was just a lot wrong. I felt like the story was being talked at me,
instead of to me and it kept me from being completely invested in the
plot. The story was spotty at times, and
I felt some paragraphs were just randomly put in there that served no purpose
towards the plot. Tons of details were
described of Baylee’s job and her policies and procedures but the same
attention was not paid towards what details actually mattered. I have no idea what Baylee’s house looked
like, all I know is that it has a pool.
The same can be said for Sebastian’s house (although there was a little
bit more detail) the MC club house, or where either of them worked.
There was so much inconsistency that it kept me from
getting emotionally invested in the story as well. At one point Sebastian & Baylee go visit
grave sites and one person Baylee visits is named in the book. Then the very next scene the person’s grave
comes up again and the person has a completely different name. There was just a ton of that type of
inconsistency throughout the story that really knocked the plot out of
place.
Also, a lot of the times the sentences would go from first person
point of view to third person and that just totally confused me and made me
angry. On top of that there was just a
ton of grammar mistakes, I usually don’t mention grammar mistakes but there was
just way too many of them that it distracted me.
To Sum
It All Up!
I went into this book hoping that I would find another series
that I could fall in love with. This
story definitely had the potential to be that for me, but there was just too
many errors and holes in the plot that it irritated me. I wish there was more attention paid to the
main characters of the book as far as their looks and actions rather than what
an EMT does on a daily basis. I love
that there was a ton of information about that kind of stuff but when it’s not
followed through to other parts of the plot it shows the weaknesses more than
bringing out the strengths. I love
series that introduce the reader to a whole group of characters because you get
to know so many different personalities so personally and this MC series
definitely offers that. I just wish the
structure and grammar were stronger because this is definitely a series I know
I would’ve loved.
