Theirs was a long, complicated story with a monster and a knight. What made their story unique was that these two players were the same person.—Aleatha Romig, CONVICTED

What I Loved

First of all what I loved most was the fact that I got more Tony and Claire because I totally missed them.  I loved this book not only because we get more of Tony and Claire but because we get to see how far they’ve come since Consequences and all that’s changed from the moment Claire was taken.  It’s astounding to see the changes Tony in particular as made and this story in particular points that out like no other in this series.  It’s still hard for me to believe sometimes how much I love Tony because I just hated him so much in the beginning, but I do I love the fact that he is the hero and how much he love Claire and his family.  I love the chemistry between him and Claire and I love that through it all Claire can’t stand up for herself, that her opinions are heard and she has finally gotten that happy ending she’s always wanted.  Claire has always been a relatable character which it made it so easy for me to get emotionally invested in her journey so it was so wonderful to see the outcome of all the hell she’s been through and coming out the other side of all that turmoil.

It’s weird because for a long time I didn’t know if I could re-read this series because I didn’t want to hate Tony again and he was just so evil in Consequences but after reading this one I really want to jump back into this series and experience everything all over again.  It’s so great to see Claire become the mother she desperately wanted to be and watch Tony settle into this new life he never thought was possible, and I want to go back and take that journey with all over again.

Not So Much
I really don’t have any huge complaints about this book, I guess maybe it seemed a tad slow at times but that maybe because of the switching of the point of views and I just wanted to get back to Tony and Claire and no one else!  Also I kind of wish there was maybe a little bit more foundation and explanation laid out with Taylor’s story.  We learned bits and pieces of her past, and some of it was confronted but there wasn’t a ton of follow through with her story and I would’ve liked to have learned more about her and what was in store for her future.

To Sum It All Up!
It’s so wonderful when there is a happily ever after at the end of a series or story, but it’s even wonderful when you actually get to see the happily ever after.  That is certainly the case when it comes to Beyond the Consequences, we get to experience Claire and Tony settle into this brand new life with a brand new family and loving friends.  It’s so wonderful to watch the lives they’ve built for themselves after so much heartache and turmoil, and that they appreciate every single moment they have together.  It’s extraordinary to see all the changes Tony has made throughout the series and it’s hard to believe he’s the same man he was form the first book.  I too have been in situations that I regret but without them would not be where I am today and I would not have learned the lessons I have learned.  It’s a mixture of emotions whenever you think about those situations and it made it really easy for me to relate to Tony and Claire and how they felt about their past with each other.  I love every second of this story and I cried some very happy tears at the end.  This is such a moving series and an incredible journey and I will love Tony and Claire for a very long time.
