Laura's Review of Perfect Ten by Michelle Craig

Synopsis
THIS BOOK IS FOR ADULTS 18 YEARS AND OLDER. THIS IS AN EROTIC ROMANCE STORY!

Joseph Starling Jr. was in the right place at the right time. It didn’t take him long to discover his particular talent. He knew how to make a woman feel good. If she wasn’t screaming out his name, purring like a kitten or clawing at him like a lioness, he had failed. Mediocre was not a word in his vocabulary. Her enjoyment was so important to him that his own pleasure was a secondary concern.

Faith Graham was nothing like the women he was required to date as an escort—it was what he liked about her from the first time he saw her. She was imperfect and insecure. Her hair was a bit on the wild side, and her clothes were slightly rumpled. But her curves! They were alluring. She had curves where most of the elite clientele he mingled with had straight lines, and not an ounce of softness to be found. Shocking him to his core, she didn’t want anything to do with him.

Joe had always thought that working as an escort for Perfect Ten was a dream come true, but he was beginning to wonder if there was more to life than raking in the cash and having his pick of women on any given night. Could he start over with a new direction in life, or was he already at the age of twenty-six too jaded? Was there more out there for Joe Starling or was he destined to be a boy toy at the whim of any woman rich enough to afford him?

 What I Loved

I absolutely loved this story! It’s been such a long time since I’ve really had fun while reading a storyline and this book delivered that.  Right from the beginning the characters laying out their stories and personalities felt very organic and natural.  I didn’t feel like the book was talking at me like a robot, but that these were actual human beings telling me about their love story.

I don’t think there isn’t one thing I hated about Joe Starling, from the very first paragraph I fell in love with this man.  He was really funny at times and sweet at others.  I loved how he kind of became that high school girl with a new crush, who tries to play it off as they are just “coincidently” walking by your house but in reality it’s the fourth time and they’ve been praying that you might notice.  I loved how much he loved Faith, and how sexy and beautiful he found from the very beginning and the reason he loved her so much was because she wasn’t stick thin and model gorgeous.  He is truly what every normal female out there hopes to find in a man one day.

Not So Much
I really enjoyed reading this book; it was a refreshing type of love story that I was sad when it ended.  But I kind of felt like there were some stories lines left undone or just not addressed towards the end.  I was waiting for this epic battle with Faith and her family, or her just finally standing up for herself and walking away or something, and that never really happened.  I don’t think things were really explained well when it came to Faith’s parents’ relationship.  It was talked about a few times in the book, her father kind of addressed his relationship with his wife, but it still didn’t really make sense to me and I would’ve liked to have seen that explored more.

This Book Was
Really great!  I had a lot of fun reading Perfect Ten; it was so great to see this beautifulman fall all over himself trying to get Faith to be his girlfriend.  I really liked Faith as well, she was a very real down to worth kind of woman which made it easy to enjoy her and be on her side as the plot progressed.  She kind of annoyed me a little in the beginning because she was just so negative over and over again, and it started to feel too repetitive but eventually she broke out of that mindset and the negativity slowed down.  Great overall story, I loved Epilogue what a great point of view to end the story.  Lots of very hot sex scenes, which of course I loved every minute of, but this book also made me laugh and at the end made me tear up a little bit.  I would definitely read another Michelle Craig book again, in fact I can’t wait to!
