Lauren's Review of Worth the Wait: Sexy Nerd Boys #1 by K.M Neuhold

Book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Summary: Abby: I have issues. Like, serious, major issues. And, the last thing I want or need is a man in my life to make things more complicated. Unfortunately for me my roommates drop dead gorgeous brother seems hell bent on seducing me. And, what’s worse is that he’s kind of the perfect guy. Resisting him just might kill me.

Ethan: I don’t do relationships. I prefer to keep things casual, and I’m always up front with women so that no one ever gets hurt. But, my sister’s new roommate…yeah I might have a small obsession. Or, maybe I should say a TARDIS obsession because there’s a 100% chance that it’s bigger on the inside. What the hell is a guy supposed to do though when he meets a woman who is not only beautiful but also feisty, fun, and way into nerd culture? I may be doomed.

Doctor Who??
What I Liked:  Is it bad that I did not know any of the nerd references? I always considered myself to be one of the jocks so I guess it is understandable to have no idea what TARDIS or Doctor Who is. However, even without brushing up on my nerd culture, I really enjoyed this book. I am always a fan of strong females who stand their ground and don’t go all wussy on me. Abby absolutely is one of those characters. As the story reveals more about her past, you can understand what Abby had to overcome to be the independent, fierce woman that she is. The story flows smooth and immediately grabs your attention. I found myself reading on my phone when I had some downtime, which does not happen too often these days. I was really fond of the connection between the characters but mostly the relationship between Ethan and his sister. I don’t know if I could live next door to my brother, let alone have him just walk into my apartment but it works for them.

Not So Much:  There were a couple of things that stood out to me with this book. First, there are a couple of spelling errors; like the use of the word diner instead of dinner (a little pet peeve of mine). Also, I found the ending to be kind of random. The beginning of the story seemed to glide by however, around the 78% mark it seemed like the author didn’t know where to go with it. Without giving much away, it just seemed like there was a lot thrown at you causing the story start to get a little exaggerated and almost silly.

Overall: This book won’t knock you off your feet but it will keep you entertained.
