Laura’s Review of The Arrangement 21: The Ferro Family (The Arrangement, #21) By H.M. Ward

Synopsis
THE SERIES WITH OVER 12 MILLION COPIES SOLD Volume 21 in the New York Times Bestselling Arrangement Series

The sexy billionaire laying next to me has asked me the one question I've been longing to hear. Sean Ferro is finally there, ready to marry me. All I have to do to live happily ever after is destroy my enemies, kill my brother, and try not to lose myself in the process.

As it is, I feel like I'm becoming unhinged. Past sins are pressing against my mind, demanding to be dealt with, but I can't open the floodgates. I can't let those demons see the light of day. My actions are so far beyond shades of grey that I worry I'll destroy everyone around me--Sean included.

I never thought it would be difficult to say yes to the sexy, naked man laying in my arms. I want the happily ever after, but I'm not sure I have what it takes to get there.

Genre: New Adult Romance
This story unfolds over multiple volumes approx. 125 pages each.

What I Loved
I’ve been so happy to go on this crazy adventure with Avery as she unearths secrets of not only the people around her but of her past and of herself.  I love stories that as several questions are answered, many others pop up and keep me guessing the entire time.  This entire series has been nothing less than exciting and even though nothing totally dangerous happened in this particular installment there was a moment where my heart was pounding and I think I was shaking a little.  To say the scene was insane is an understatement but I would expect nothing less when it comes to Sean’s imagination.  Yet I don’t know who I should be more worried about; Henry or Sean?

Once again Avery surprised me all over again by showing how brave she can be and how far her love for Sean will take her.  I love her character development from volume one until now, looking back I don’t think I would even recognize the Avery from the very beginning of this story.  Not only her but of Marty and Mel and even Sean.  Everyone has changed and evolved so much and that says a lot about H.M. Ward and how beautifully she’s written these characters, their foundations and has let them grow from story to story.

Not So Much
As interesting as this story was, not a ton happens as far as the overall plot.  I kind of felt like this one was more of a filler rather than pushing the story along.  There is an intense sex scene, a ton of foreshadowing of things to come but that’s really about it.  I felt like things got a little wordy, where simple descriptions could have been used or there could’ve been more movement in the overall plot when there wasn’t.  I hope the next one we will at least to start to see plans being carried out since there were was a ton of foreshadowing in this one and not a lot of action.
To Sum It All Up!
Overall, I’m happy that there is an end in sight in for this series.  Saying that I’m not happy there is an end in sight, because I love Sean and Avery so much and I never want to say goodbye! Yet, so much has happened and there was been so many twists and turns it’s nice to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I just wish at I got a clearer picture of that light in this volume.

There was a crazy and intense sex scene that had me questioning the boundaries of sanity and trust that enraptured me, had my heart pounding and my eyes bugging out of my head.  Sean and Avery’s sexual chemistry has never wavered from the beginning and that was never more evident than in this book.  I love that Sean is always pushing Avery out of her comfort zone but proves that he can always be trusted in the end.  I truly believe Avery is Sean’s soul mate and I can’t wait to see how all of this will end.
