Synopsis
LOVE…sometimes it’s
good. Sometimes it’s bad. And sometimes it’s dangerous.
Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, is sure of one of thing. She should never fully trust someone who has secrets. Especially when said bad boy is the sexiest man walking on earth. She is running away and has no intention of ever returning to him. But when a friend is killed and the one man she thought she would never meet again is accused of murder, she knows the story doesn’t add up.
Dangerously sexy and arrogant millionaire Jett Mayfield knows his secrets are not doing him any favors. However, when they serve to save Brooke’s life, he has no intention of revealing them. When problems spiral out of control and his life is turned upside down, he knows he needs her more than ever. He needs her more than he knows. But will he be strong enough to do what needs to be done?
In a world where truth shatters and danger is closing in on them, where love is their only sanctuary, will they be able to find each other or is it time to let each other go?
What I Loved
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on
this book, I’ve been on the edge of my seat my waiting to see what was next for
Brooke and Jett. The minute I started
reading I couldn’t put it down, I needed to find out how all of this was going
end.
The story begins with a bit of a rewind building up the
intensity and laying out the plot so you get a nice overview of what has
happened so far. I liked that the point
of views changed in the beginning because it really built the suspense of what
was to come.
I think the best part of this book is
that finally Brooke and Jett seem to be on the same page after everything that
has happened to them! There has been so
many secrets and lies coming from both Brooke and Jett so it was so wonderful
for it all to be laid out there making it possible for them to come together as
a team. The powerful emotions they both
feel for each other comes to life once again in this book and that certainly left
a big smile on my face at times.
Not So Much
I think my biggest complaint is that
the story kind of moved a little slow for me.
I felt like the majority of the book took place in a matter of a day and
in one location. I know a lot happens in
a day but it was drawn out a bit too much for making the plot shallow at times. Also I felt like there was a lot of
unanswered questions going into this book and while a lot of them got
unanswered there were things that should’ve been addressed that weren’t. I felt like the end was a little rushed and anticlimactic
for the sake of delivering a happy ending while there could’ve been more detail
added in.
To Sum It All Up!
