Summary
**Standalone novel**
Mirror, mirror ... who's the fairest of them all?
I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn't grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all 'mean girls.'
And those mean girls were right - it was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world - and I knew the answer would never be me.
The women with long legs, flat stomachs, and perfect chests.
The type of women Kane Masters gravitated toward.
Well, that's definitely not Willow Tate.
No. That will never be me.
Because I'm completely imperfect.
And ... I hate myself.
I have no idea what Kane could possibly see in someone like me when he could have them.

It’s times like this, review time, when I have such a hard time trying to put my thoughts into review form. I want to just scream to every woman I know, “YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!” but I know that it isn’t in me to leave it there. What Harper has done in this standalone, is something so much more then just tell a story. She breaks the barrier of body issues, and allows those of us who may not always feel like we are good enough or worthy enough to hope. To dream. To know that it is a fabulous thing to love yourself NO MATTER what you look like. Willow struggles with her self-image because it was verbally saturated on her soul through out her life after her mom’s death, by her step-father, step-sister, and husband that she needed to be perfect and just wasn’t ever going to measure up. She divorced her husband and started to change her life. Then Kane Masters comes along, grabs hold of her hand, and helps Willow shine every day. I don’t want to tell the story in this review because I believe whole-heartedly, that it should be experienced. This is a love story and is told in true Harper Sloan fashion, but it is really just something that transcends that.
What I didn’t Love:
There is not one thing I can say that I didn’t love. Usually I can nitpick and be a brat, but with this story, I just can’t.
Overall:
Once again, Harper has taken an issue that is a part of so many women’s lives, including her own (she was very honest about this story), and brought it to the forefront. Self-love is not always easy to achieve in today’s world, what with all the body shaming and standards people put out. But to truly love yourself, means you can hold tight to the hand reaching out to you and accept the love and support that hand can provide. This story really needs to be put in the hands of every self-doubter that you know. Everyone that has any amount of Willow in them, needs to know, that sometimes being Perfectly Imperfect makes you who you were meant to be.
