The doorbell pulled
her from her thoughts. She scrubbed her hands over her eyes and jogged
downstairs. She wrenched open the door.
“Hey,” she said to
the deliveryman.
“Package for Bri.
Is that you?”
“The one and only.”
“Sign here.”
She scrawled her
name on the line and took a small box from him. After what the last package had
contained, she couldn’t control her excitement as she tore into the wrapping.
When she saw the label, she bit her lip in delight.
Agent Provocateur.
Inside was a black
strappy bra and thong set, plus the garter belt and stockings. It even
contained the matching black leather paddle. Her heart fluttered. She had
always been a La Perla girl, but Agent Provocateur was overtly sexual and
suited her very nature.
Without a second
thought, she grabbed her phone and dialed his number.
“Hey,” she breathed
lightly into the phone when he answered.
“Bri.” He sounded
happy to hear from her.
“Where and when do
I get to wear my present?”
He laughed. “It’s
good to hear you got it. Straight to the point.”
“Always.”
“Well, I’ll be in
town in two weeks. Pack a bag. I think, this time, you won’t be leaving at the
end of the night.”
What I Loved
I think the better question is what didn’t I love!?!?!
This was what I was waiting for in Bryna’s story. Of course it was a long windy
road but it just made the ending all the more sweet. The story had all the elements I love when
I’m reading, it had; drama, love, sex, happiness, sadness, hate, anger and so
much more!
We
meet Bryna in her freshman year of college, with one goal in mind (other than
cheer and football of course) and that’s gold digging. Bryna has once again established herself as
Queen Bitch and she plays the role of head bitch very well through most of the
book. Bryna is the very epitome of high
fashion and Hollywood young adult glamor.
She’s the girl every college girl wants to be, and every hot guy wants
to bang. Bryna went on a pretty wild
ride in this story, and I enjoyed every second of it. I’m not going to give too
much away but I will say I think any reader will walk away being completely in
love with Bryna like I did.
Not So Much
My only real complaint would be that I wish there was
just a tad more detail as far as the backgrounds go. I don’t really know what Bryna’s condo looked
like, or what finishing touches she might’ve added to her bedroom or just the
condo in general. The same can be said for Eric’s house and also where LV State
is located in relation to what people know of Las Vegas. It was hard to gage where campus was to the
strip or Bryna’s condo. I assume they
were all close to each other but I know very little about Vegas outside of the
touristy places so it’s hard to imagine where these outer locations are. Other than that I loved this book!
To Sum It All Up!
When it comes to Bryna this is the story I have been
waiting for! There was such great character development, which was built off a
solid foundation from the first book. I
love that we also get to know the supporting characters as well because it
makes me more excited to get to Trihn’s and Stacia’s story. There was just so many emotions I went
through while reading and I absolutely love my heart being put through the ringer. I was immediately engrossed in this story and
couldn’t put it down. K.A. Linde has
once again created another amazing series and I know it will just get better
and better!
