Laura’s Review of Unveiled (One Night, #3) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Synopsis

A life without secrets and a passion without end . . .The story of Livy and M's passionate love affair comes to a stunning conclusion in the final book in the One Night trilogy!

Livy has never known pure desire like this. The gorgeous Miller Hart captivates her, seduces her, and worships her in deliciously sinful ways. He knows her innermost thoughts, drawing her ever deeper into his dangerous world.

Miller will do anything to keep Livy safe, even if it means risking his own life. But his dark history isn't the only thing that threatens their future together. As the truth of Livy's family legacy unravels, an unsettling parallel between past and present comes to light. Her world spinning out of control, Livy finds herself caught between the rapture of an all-consuming love-and a deadly obsession that could destroy them both . . .

What I Loved
Well if there was any way to end a trilogy this is certainly it! The story picks up a couple weeks after Denied (One Night, #2), with Miller and Olivia escaping to New York City waiting for a plan to form and the dust to settle.  Although they seem to be a little more settled in their relationship in this one, the sexual tension is still very much alive and ticking. The mad crazy passion they feel for one another leads to some pretty crazy sex scenes which I thoroughly enjoyed reading and sometimes had my eyes bugging out of my head.

The love and trust they have built over the past few weeks has established a very solid foundation for their relationship. So the constant; does he really love me, is he lying to me questions, and the back and forth aren’t an element in this book, which I liked because that can get tiring after a while.  Olivia has very much staked her claim of Miller and vice versa and there is no tearing them apart.

Miller and Olivia’s lives are still being hunted by the man that has controlled Miller for decades and that does all finally come to a head in a VERY dramatic way, so much so I literally couldn’t put this book down.  I think I finished reading this last night at about two in the morning because I just couldn’t get enough.

Not So Much
There were times in this plot that Olivia kind of got on my nerves and I felt her reactions were just way too extreme and juvenile.  She has a mental flip out at a certain point and I’m still struggling to understand why she felt that she had to go to such extremes over a phone call.  Her constant sass and reactions became a little bit tiring and annoying after a while and at a certain point I just wanted her to shut up.  I love how much she loves Miller but sometimes I wish she’d take it down a notch or two.

To Sum It All Up!

I knew this story was going to be bittersweet, sweet because it meant more Miller and Olivia, bitter because I knew once I finished this one it was all over.  Their story doesn’t end though without massive drama, the climax of the plot will leave you with your heart pounding and your eyes frantically reading trying to figure out how all of this is going to end.  More bombs are dropped in this one, but they are bombs that give you answers rather than ask more questions so you do get closure in every storyline.  The epilogue is from Miller’s point of view which I really liked, and it left me with a big smile on my face.  I’m not going to give anything away but I will say you get all your questions answered and there is a happily ever after at the end.
