Laura’s Review of Fierce (Storm, #2) by Nina Levine

Synopsis
She’s everything he’s never wanted. He’s everything she’s never known.

Scott Cole is a force to be reckoned with. As Vice President of the Storm Motorcycle Club he carries out his duties with a ruthless determination. He moves through life with a clear agenda - protect his club and his family at all costs.

He is intense.

He is loyal.

He is fierce.

He doesn’t give his love easily, but when he does, he loves fiercely. Settling down, however, has never been part of his plan.

Harlow James is a country girl who has never met a biker in her life. She is also done with men. In her experience all they ever do is lie, cheat or steal. When she meets Scott Cole she knows he is heartbreak on legs.

He is confident.

He is sexy.

He is bossy.

She knows she must fight her growing attraction to this complex man in order to guard her heart. When his world crashes into hers and danger comes calling, Scott’s fierce desire to protect kicks in and Harlow realizes that she might just have found a man worth taking a risk on.

What I Loved
First of all I have a weak spot for Biker romances, there’s just something about an alpha male in leather with powerful machinery between their legs.  Well, putting it that way how does not anyone love a good biker story?  This was once again a great story with great characters and an awesome plot.  We once again join the Storm MC, but this time it’s from Scott’s POV and experience the shit storm (no pun intended) that the MC has found itself in once again.

After that we get to meet a whole new exciting character named Harlow, who has moved to Brisbane after her having her heart broken (again) to help her mom with the finances.  I really enjoyed this character as whole; she’s stubborn at times, which comes in handy when you need to stand up to a big bad biker but she’s also caring and nurturing all at once. Harlow is one determined woman, who just needs some help getting her life back together.  I love how she gives Scott a hard time since everyone else seems to stay out of his way or just does what he says.  It’s a new dynamic for Scott which I thoroughly enjoyed reading about.

Not So Much

This was a great book over all, and really wonderful story.  I just wish that there was more background detail added to the story to really set a more well-rounded backdrop to the plot.  There are some details when it comes to Scott’s house and that was great, but the same attention is not paid to the rest of the scenes in the book.  I never really got a hold of what the MC headquarters is really like, let alone what Harlow and her mom’s house looked like.  I love when those kinds of details are put into stories because they lay out a really sturdy foundation to the plot of the entire book.

To Sum it All Up!

Overall this book was awesome and I really fell in love with Harlow and Scott.  The chemistry between them was pretty hot, and at a certain point I just wanted them to rip each other’s clothes off and go for it!  That wonderful chemistry they had between each other lead to some pretty hot sex scenes which I thoroughly enjoyed.  It was so great to rejoin this MC, and not only experience Harlow and Scott fall in love with each other but get to see J and Madison progress in their relationship as well.  No MC book would be complete without some tense moments and there were definitely some scenes that had me on the edge of my seat, which I loved because I love books some drama added in.  There are a couple bonus scenes at the end that involve J and Madison which I very much enjoyed as well.  Can’t wait to delve into Blaze (Storm, #2.5)!
