Excerpt

"The fact is, Sara, I don’t think I can let you walk away.”
He reaches around and wraps my hair around his fist, then gently pulls, exposing my neck. My breath is coming in short bursts, and I fight with my body to appear calm and in control. His nose trails delicately across my cheek, down my neck, and over my collarbone. He gently nips at the base of my neck, and my body shudders involuntarily. He kisses hungrily up the side of my neck until he reaches my ear.
“Just give me a chance. I promise you won’t regret it, beautiful girl,” he whispers. He shifts back just far enough to look into my eyes. And I’m lost. Lost in the hunger and desire I see reflecting back at me.
Lowering his head toward me, he sucks my bottom lip, and I grasp his forearms tightly for balance. There’s nothing tentative about his approach. He’s self-assured, knows what he wants, and takes it. I fucking love that. He coaxes my lips open with his tongue and devours me. As our tongues slide hungrily against each other, he pulls me even closer to him and pushes his way between my legs. Adam kisses like he’s starving, and I’m all too happy to provide.
He ends the kiss way too soon for my liking. We stay intertwined and breathless for a few moments, and I love that I hold power over him like he does over me. He looks up at me with a lazy smirk, and it feels like the wind has been knocked out of me. He’s stunning, and I can’t believe he’s interested in someone like me.

First Impressions
Right away the Prologue to this book just grabs your attention and almost instantly my heart was breaking for Sara.  Youre not really sure what happened between her and Mason and I am sure eventually it will be revealed out but I immediately love her.   The author does a pretty good job of laying down the foundation to the story pretty well.  It’s very easy for me to get a feel for who Sara is as well as her friends and family.  So far the book is pretty good and I can sense the attraction between Sara and Adam right away.

What I Loved
I of course love Sara, she is a pretty amazing character and her development throughout the book was right on point.  I also really loved Adam, he is one hot sexy man who can sing and cook!  HELLO, where are these men in real life?!?!

Also I really enjoyed the supporting characters in this book, and this has definitely laid out the foundation for the rest of this series.  I’m already emotionally invested in Alex, Marlo, Cain, and Celia so I can’t wait to get to their books and see them all get their happy ending.
I will say this book at a couple different points surprised me, which is hard to do so I enjoyed that immensely.  There were many parts where I laughed and some parts that made me a little teary eyed which just added to the experience while reading this book.

Not So Much
This book was a happy surprise and I got to fall in love with not just Adam and Sara but the people and town around them as well.  That being said, a lot of the sentences were just a little too fragmented and not followed through correctly. Also the details as far as the settings around the characters were lacking.  There were hardly any specific descriptions of Sara’s house, or Adam’s.  I have no idea what Clinic looks like they volunteer in, or where the hospital is in comparison to the clinic or Sara’s house.  I really look for those details to enhance the story and add more to the plot.  I get more invested in the storyline if I can really picture everything going on around the characters.

This Book Was…

Pretty good!  I really enjoyed this story, and was pleasantly surprised by how emotional I got while reading it.  The sexual tension between Adam and Sara was pretty amazing, and I couldn’t wait for them to tear each other’s clothes off.  I was expecting this to be a story of Sara and Mason, but this was really story about Sara, and her finding her confidence and happiness.  This was definitely a story not just about love but empowerment.  I have definitely fallen in love with Providence, Louisiana and I cannot wait to see what happens next with all these characters.
