Kari's 4 Star Review of Cain's Salvation by Sarah O'Rourke

Summary:
When Dr. Cain Turner's life was literally blown apart in a small province of Afghanistan, it was only the hope and memories of one woman that propelled him forward. But there were more demons to face. In the small country hamlet of Paradise, Tennessee...Faith waits. Surrounded by her loving sisters, Faith McKinnon had faced her own demons, having thought that the love of her life had deserted her. But fate...and a few meddling McKinnon sisters...conspired to bring the two star-crossed lovers together again.

                   What I loved:
The McKinnon sisters are brave, independent, and quite funny.  I enjoyed how close they are as a family.  Each sister is different and with each having their own history, even sometimes tragic, their personalities still compliment each other well. I feel like I know these sisters, and can see the shenanigans we would get up to!!

I love stories about any branch of the military!! Cain, being a doctor, just made it that much better.  Cain had demons because of the fact he was a doctor in the midst of war, but his heart never really left Faith.  Even though Cain thought he wasn’t worthy, he still loved her. Of course it was HOT HOT HOT when they got together too!!

What I didn’t love:
Ok, this was my first book by this author.  I really enjoyed the storyline.  I thought the story lacked some details in character back story and scenery descriptions.  I am a very visual person and need to be able to escape there in my mind.  I wanted more more more!! I mean that’s not necessarily a bad thing I guess.

Overall:

This was a very fast-paced, interesting storyline.  Like I said, I wanted more of everything!!! I am glad I was able to become acquainted with Cain, the McKinnon sisters, and the some others from the town of Paradise, Tennessee.  This story is really about unending love, forgiveness, and the emotional scars that can be left from serving in our military.  Please remember to thank those who serve our country for us!!  And pick up Cain’s Salvation!! I look forward to seeing where the author takes the rest of the sisters and some of the other secondary characters from the story!!
