Lauren's Review of Frigid (Frigid #1) by J. Lynn, Jennifer L. Armentrout

Summary: For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard.  Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.  Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.  But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

What I loved: This was a light, refreshing read.  A cute best friends turned lovers story.  I liked that the storyline was different from the last couple of books that I have read.  I loved how protective Kyler was of Sydney.  The way he watches out for her and takes care of her if she gets hurt.  Nothing better than cuddling with the man of dreams next to a warm fire in the middle of a major snow storm.

Cons: There were moments in this book that I really enjoyed but the constant back and forth misundestanding got old fast.  I had some issues with Sydney always assuming what Kyler was thinking and always being so negative about it.  The first time Sydney and Kyler fall asleep together and Kyler ends up "doing something" while he was still asleep...come on!! Clearly she enjoyed it. Why did it end up being awkward and shocking?!?! The ending annoyed me too...the whole "This is forever" ending seemed a little silly to me. You mean to tell me that he had this tattoo since high school and she never asked Kyler what it meant?

Hot Scene: Up against the floor to ceiling windows...it was getting there :)

Next Book: Carter Reed by Tijan
